Removable steel refuge chamber is a very important device for lifesaving in coal mine disasters, such as fire, gas explosion, roof fall, and so on. So the chamber body should have good stiffness, strength, and tightness under disaster conditions. The stiffener structure in refuge chamber body has been investigated with FEM, and a kind of design was suggested.
