Based on the modeling characteristic of spiral bevel gears, an accurately UG parametric model was established. The single-conditional finite element analysis method cannot satisfy the need of research under the realistic complex environment. Therefore, a thermo-mechanical model was built in the MSC.MARC Software. The contact region, contact stress, bend stress of dedendum and the change of the temperature were calculated. Some comparisons were done between these two methods. The result shows that the method was more feasible, and could provide a reliable basis for the further optimal design.
