Abstract: Control strategy and stability of actuator are highly important for the performance of Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT). Targeting an electric AMT actuator, this paper sets up a Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test rig which is composed of TCU, AMT actuator, dSPACE Simulator, real-time simulation computer and AMT actuator loading simulation electric servo-system. In order to verify actuator and control strategy, the paper carries out several tests in typical driving conditions. it also analyses the shift performance and gives advices on further improvement. This paper lists several failure modes and extreme conditions of AMT. Some of them will be modeled in Simulink, in order to optimize AMT actuator and control strategy while ensuring enough driving ability when AMT is failed or vehicle is driven in extreme conditions.

Abstract: Abstract. Based on the monthly datasets, including the number of traffic accidents, casualties and meteorological data, the relationship between the traffic accidents and meteorological conditions is studied. The results are as follows: (1) There are two peaks of the number of traffic accidents, which are the saddle-shaped peak from Apr to Jun and the second peak in Oct respectively. The number of traffic accidents in February is the least. The temporal distribution of the casualty is different from that of traffic accident. Most casualties happened in Jul. and the second in Apr. and Oct. The susceptibility of traffic accident and casualty in Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin decreased successionally from high to low. (2) A new result is obtained: in comparison with the number of traffic accidents, the correlation between meteorological condition and casualty is higher. The main reason is that the adverse weather conditions always cause drivers fail to control the vehicle or to make right decision. Therefore, the accident causing casualty should be focused on while the monthly weather-related accident is discussed. (3) The correlation coefficient between the number of casualty and precipitation or relative humidity is significantly positive. Otherwise, the correlation coefficient between the number of casualty and visibility or pressure is significantly negative.

Abstract: Prediction on the public parking facilities scale is an important work of the urban static traffic planning. It is extremely necessary and meaningful to analyze its total demand, supply scale, and constituent. On the basis of analysis for the characteristics of static traffic prediction method based on travel, a process of parking facilities scale forecasting with the core of trip attraction model was presented, and a prediction model for public parking facilities was also established by means of improving traditional trip attraction model according to a static traffic management influence coefficient. At last, combined with example of urban prediction, the application methods of the model and the principles of its parameter calibration are discussed. The result demonstrates that our prediction model provides a solution to forecast public parking facilities scale.

Abstract: Arsenite oxidation characteristics were studied through domesticated bacteria from soil added arsenic artificially, which came from Dinghu Mountain Natural Reserve of Zhaoqing, Guangdong, China. Two individual bacterial strains were selected as arsenite-oxidizing bacteria by reaction of silver nitrate and detected in community DNA fingerprints generated by PCR coupled with denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis. Physiological, biochemical and arsenite oxidation characteristics of arsenic-oxidizing bacteria were researched. They were gram-negative and rod-shaped bacteria, which were 99% related to Alcaligenes sp.(strain H) and 100% related to Agrobacterium sp. (strain Q) respectively. The arsenic-oxidizing experiment showed that the optimal temperature and pH were 30°Cand 9.0 respectively for both strains. Strain H was an efficient arsenite-oxidizing bacteria. It oxidized As(III) by nearly 100% after 21 hours. Therefore, It was detected as the most perspective strains in this study.

Abstract: In North China, water shortage imposes constraint on economic and social development. Seawater desalination provides an effective approach to relieve this disadvantage, while this industry also accompanies with adverse environmental effects. To study the environmental impact of brine discharge from a desalination plant at the planning stage on the west coastal line of the Bohai Bay, the salinity distributions are predicted by using numerical simulation. Monthly variations of salinity distributions are given and the impacted areas are calculated. The results show that the mean area with salinity rising of 1 and 2 are about 40 and 10 square kilometers, respectively. The maximum impact areas are about 80 and 35 square kilometers respectively, which will take place in spring. The salinity variation at the inlet is predicted, which is fluctuated with the tidal oscillations, and the maximum salinity level is below 35 in this position.
