Application of Direct-Drive Technology in Marine Electric Propulsion
  Abstract

The characteristics of direct-drive technology were briefly analyzed. The superiority of using the direct drive technology in the ship electric propulsion was pointed out. The sinusoidal permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) was analyzed and its control strategy applied in the ship electric propulsion. This technology’s feasibility and advanced was expounded.
