Reliability Comparison of Passive Dissipation Structure based on Random and Monte Carlo Analysis
  Abstract

Random response of dissipation structure was obtained by means of pseudo-excitation method, and dynamic reliability was analyzed based on random response analysis. In contract that time-dependent reliability was studied by use of Monte Carlo approach. A numerical solution method with iterative analysis procedure for implicit performance function was applied to carry out the relevant statistical parameters. A 6-storey building as an example was analyzed to compare the two methods about reliability.
