Preparation of Eu (III) and Tb (III) Complex Materials
  Abstract

Two new Eu (III) and Tb (III) complexes material have been prepared by the reaction of Eu (III) and Tb (III) ions with 1-acetyl-2-naphthol-4, 4’-diaminodiphenylsulfone, respectively. The material was characterized by infrared and luminescent spectra. The results indicate that the Eu (III) and Tb (III) complexes material do not exhibit their characteristic luminescence emissions, and only exhibit the fluorescence emission of the ligand in solid. This may be due to the energy gap between the ligand triplet levels and the emitting level of Eu (III) or Tb (III) ions do not favor to the energy transfer process for Eu (III) or Tb (III) ions.
