| Abstract | This paper proposes a method of building the design tree with stratified constraints and modifications for the machine design with pre-defined technological process. The design method displays the design process in a tree structure with overall open yet local convergent characteristics. It is applied to develop an innovative, a comprehensive, and practical design through design detailing, integrative constraints and interventions, and real-time evaluations. As an example the design of the tire-building drum is given. |
