Abstract: Photoionization of ions is an important atomic process in very hot extended plasmas, for example, in objects of astrophysical interest. Planetary nebulae as a stage in the evolution of stars are one significant example. Modeling of their formation and composition requires detailed information about atomic processes in a very highly ionized plasma, including cross sections for photoionization of ions.
