Abstract: The essence of the undertaken topic is the problem of estimation of state vector in the model of 2S1 tracked vehicle suspension system through the use of Extended Kalman Filter. The use of non-linear filter has become necessary due to the magnetorheological damper located at suspension system, which has been described by hyperbolic model. Application of the damper caused the tested suspension system has become a semi-active structure in which the hybrid control was applied. The choice of this type of control stems from the fact that in the case of tracked combat vehicles in addition to the advantageous conditions of work of vehicle crew also cornering stability and the possibility of sudden acceleration or braking is important. The hybrid control allows to determine a compromise between ride comfort and stability of 2S1 platform.

Abstract: In the article, a new solution of a semi-active suspension system is presented. It is based on a sky-hook strategy model. This solution in 2S1 tracked platform is applied to improve body vehicle stability and driving comfort. The solution is applied in two versions of the 2S1 vehicle suspension model. First one is a basic model. This suspension is based on existing construction of the 2S1 platform suspension. It is based on torsion bars. Second one is a modified model, based on spiral torsion springs. In this model a new solution of idler mechanism is applied. It provides constant tension of the tracks. Semi-active suspensions simulations results are compared with results of models with passive versions of the suspension to highlight the improvement level. Simulations are conducted in the Yuma Proving Ground conditions. Results of all models simulations are compared and analyzed to improve stability and comfort level in conditions of the modern battlefield. Stability level is analyzed for weapon aiming tasks. Comfort level is analyzed for the vehicle crew efficiency.

Abstract: In the article, three alternative models of 2S1 platform suspension system are presented. First model is based on existing construction of 2S1 platform suspension. Two next were modernized by usage of new solutions in tracked vehicles suspension technology. The solutions are especially associated with torsion spring element and idler mechanism. The authors have assumed simulation conditions for straight line driving of the vehicle models, while they overcome a single obstacle with one track. Results of all models simulations are compared and analyzed to improve stability of the vehicle while driving. There are also used a human response filter to determine less harmful driving conditions for vehicle crew.

Abstract: The theme of this article is the design and strength analysis for two types of rotary seals which use shape memory materials to the radial terminal. In this paper, basic types of technical seals were brought up and shape memory materials were described. Based on these pieces of information and product catalogue of Trelleborg, there were designed two types of seals with coils of wire and shape memory. After the project of building the seals was prepared, strength tests were carried out in ANSYS Workbench program. In the case of the seal type TRG two types of analysis were carried out: the first simulating the assembly of the seal, and the second, which is the extension of the first, including additionally the coil terminal of wire. For the seal type TRA, two types of analysis were conducted as well: the first including assembly and coil terminal and the second comprising additionally loading the seal with working pressure. After selecting the materials, declaring the environment and the loads with accordance to the findings of the analyses and performing computations the results were provided. As the output there were chosen: the total reduced deformation, reduced stress and reduced load.

Abstract: We present information about construction tasks of tracked vehicle model in MSC.ADAMS computer program. Kinematic and dynamic relationships inside entire suspension system are described here. Elements of the vehicle are grouped in few subsystems, like suspension, wheels or tracks. The significant accent is put on the tracks with its force connections. Those connections are between all track links as also between wheels, links and ground surface. Also significant accent are put on damping value estimation. It is estimated based on tolerance area of characteristics of real damper element, which is applied in this type of vehicles. In next part of the article, process of appropriate damping characteristics selection is described. This process is applied for high fidelity model building.
