Abstract: With more and more process data acquired from manufacturing process, extracting useful information to build empirical models of past successful operations is urgently required to get higher product quality. Clustering is the important data mining methods, where feature extraction is a significant factor to ensure the accurate rate of clustering and classification. As a common non-linear feature extraction method, kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) uses the variance as the information metric, but the variance is not always effective in some cases. Since information entropy is nonlinear and can effectively represent the dependencies of features, the Renyi entropy is used as the information metric to extract the feature in this paper. Simulation data, Tennessee Eastman and hot rolling process data are used for model validation. As a result the proposed method has better performance on feature extraction, compared with traditional KPCA.

Abstract: According to the equation of pass surface in skew rolling, the characteristic curves are obtained by VC++ programming, a three-dimensional model of the roller is constructed by using of modeling function of Pro/E software, it is done for numerical simulation of Φ21.6mm Al ball forming process in skew rolling by means of ANSYS6.0 software, the stress and strain distributions are obtained in this simulation. It provides the important foundation for the design of dies and making clear the cause of the rolled piece inner defect. Key words: Skew rolling; Numerical simulation; Pro/E modeling; Al ball

Abstract: The optimization of pass parameters is an important step in skew rolling design. In order to meet the demands of secondary refining process in continuous casting, on the basis of the practical experience of two-groove skew rolling for steel ball, and by means of the theory of two-groove skew rolling design ,the optimization of two-groove pass parameter for Φ21.6 mm Aluminum ball, a kind of additive in secondary refining process, is realized. The optimized pass parameters are used in the rolling die design, and the corresponding experiments indicate that the projects of optimized pass parameters are feasible, and the efficiency of two-groove skew rolling is twice as large as that of one-groove.
