Abstract: Air filter is the important part of air condition systems for the high-speed railways, which has an immediate impact on the air quality. Mould is used for the formation of air filter with the corresponding surface shape. The problem appeared with breakage of the steel wire during the formation process by the mould. Field-Substance analysis and 76 standard solutions are used to describe the problem and generate the solution. The validity of the innovation design is proved with the implementation during the manufacturing practice.

Abstract: To take a wonderful understanding of design process, a modeling method based on colored hierarchical timed Petri nets and a model for a typical process of product design using this method are introduced. Then, aiming at some key issues, the model are simulated by CPN Tools and the results are shown in the paper according to which some convictive conclusions are drawn which indicates the method introduced is valid and reasonable.

Abstract: The aim of Computer Aided Innovation (CAI) is to support the engineer’s problem solving process with current design method and knowledge base. TRIZ is developed based on the patents analysis within the cross domain in the world and it is used in innovation design widely. Conflict Matrix, Effect, Standard Solution and Separate Principle are the key TRIZ tools used to resolve the inventive problems. And they can also be used for knowledge representation in the design system. As a Computer Aided Innovation System, Innovation Engine is developed and instructed. The effect of TRIZ methodology and CAI system can be proved with the case analysis of the cavity shape design of the rotor channel in the vertical shaft impact crusher. With limited power of electrical motor, there is a technical conflict in a vertical shaft impact crusher when requirement of improving break ratio of the stone materials. With the recommended principle (Curvature), the conception of a channel with a curvilinear shape can be gotten.

Abstract: Swing movable teeth reducer is a new type of small teeth difference planetary gear transmission. As a new product development technology, virtual prototype technology is a digital design method based on the product simulation model. It is important to carry on the performance simulation of the reducer and seek the optimization design of the products on virtual prototype technology. Based on the study on the principle and structure of the swing movable teeth transmission, it analyzed the motion of the system, carried on the dynamical simulation of the swing movable teeth reducer, which is established on the virtual prototype. At the same time, the paper analyzed the dynamical simulation on the rotational speed and force of the mainly parts.

Abstract: Product innovation is the key for the manufacturing to win in the market competition, and the logo of product innovation is to resolve design conflicts. The conflict in the reality is vastly different. If it has not been summarized, we can do not find out the exact way to resolve it. The conflict matrix is provided by TRIZ can help designers to resolve conflicts, but due to these principles of the invention given are more abstract, and each of the specific implementation ways of the principles of the invention are variety, so a reasonable application of principles of the invention is not easy, which a wealth of experience and theoretical knowledge has been needed by designers. The solution of the conflict problem based on the physical behavior analysis of invention principles was given in this paper. A functional modeling was referred to identify the specific cause of conflict arises, through the analysis of the physical behavior of the inventive principles, new conflicts optimization program was drawn.

Abstract: Swing movable teeth reducer is a new type of small teeth difference planetary gear reducer, which is used to transmit the rotary motion and power between two shafts with same axis. It is important to carry on the systematic design and performance simulation of the reducer and seek the optimization design of the products by the virtual prototyping. Based on the study of the principles and characteristics of the swing movable teeth transmission, this study established the virtual prototype and achieved the dynamical simulation of the reducer by CAD/CAE software. The rotate speed and force analysis proved the feasibility of the model.

Abstract: Function analysis is a key step during conceptual design process for function reasoning, which is also useful for the confirmation of conflict. And resolving conflict is regarded as the essence of invention in view point of TRIZ. Component attributes are the necessary information for a function model. The classification of the available resource and the component attributes is the base for searching specific solution for the domain problem. The methodology and application of component attributes in conceptual design are discussed in this paper.

Abstract: Based on the survey of existing research work on collaborative design and on our experiences and work in product growth design theory, a feasible approach—collaborative product growth design method to integrate the genetic engineering methodology, collaborating tools and web based information into the automatic design activity has been proposed in this paper. Firstly, the product growth design strategy and its characteristics are studied based on automation technology in the product structure design. Then, to guarantee a successful transformation and good use of existing product data and related product series on internet, the information exchange model and web based virtual design gene pool model in the process of product growth design are put forward. Finally, the mechanism of the combination of product growth design and collaborative design process are described, and the framework of collaborative design based product growth design system is introduced. Through theoretical study and hard development work interesting and useful results have been obtained.
