Abstract: The work presents a Mossbauer study of changes in the structure and phase composition of Fe-Cr-Co-W-Ga alloys with mechanical and magnetic properties appropriate for a new application of them as materials for rotors of high-speed engines. The changes are traceable to variations of the initial composition. A comparison of the latter with the changes in the Mossbauer parameters and a combined analysis of the data with the mechanical and magnetic characteristics are performed.

Abstract: Magnetic properties of Ni3Al1-yMny alloys at y≤0.6 were investigated at T≤400 K in magnetic fields H≤4 MA/m. The concentration y dependencies of the spontaneous magnetic moment s, the effective magnetic moment eff, the Curie temperature ТС, the Weiss constant , and the temperature independent part of the magnetic susceptibility 0 were determined. The behavior of the Rhodes-Wohlfarth parameter р(y) in the transition region from the itinerant electron magnetism to the spin localized one is related to the increase in the spontaneous magnetic moment of Ni atoms inversely proportional to the average distance between Mn atoms with the highly localized magnetic moments.

Abstract: The structure, mechanical and magnetic properties have been studied for Fe-Cr-Co-based hard magnetic alloys with W and Ga additives, subjected by the quenching and post-deformation hardening. The alloys combine the properties of the hard magnetic material with outstanding mechanical strength and plasticity. Using X-ray and electron microscopy analysis, the reasons and conditions of formation of these properties have been determined.
