Abstract: Biodegradable buffer materials are yhfriendly to the environment and better suited for a number of applications. Many factors affect properties of biodegradable buffer materials. They can generally be divided into technological factors and formula factors. Elasticity and tensile strength are two indicators of quality. Through experiments study, the starch granules are initially fragmented, and then under temperature and shearing by the extrusion. Starch is destructured, plasticized and melted. The elasticity and the tensile strength of the composite material were got. Combination of technological factors include screw configuration, screw speed and die temperature; formulations include foaming agent, filling dosage, and so on. The results showed that each factors had different influences on the properties of the biodegradable material.

Abstract: The mechanical properties of EPDM/R-EPDM blending was investigated. Effect of the blending ratio, amount of DCP and silica and the curing temperature of EPDM/R-EPDM blend was discussed respectively. The results showed that each factor of the formulation has an optimum value or range. Part of EPDM can completely replaced by R-EPDM, and the mechanical properties can meet the product requirements.

Abstract: The foaming effect of the biodegradable buffer material was investigated in this paper. Starch, plant fiber, plasticizer and nucleating agent were mixed, and the mixture was molded. After completion of preparation of materials, the porosity of material was calculated. Porosity reflects the foaming effect of the buffer material. Many factors determine the foaming effect of biodegradable buffer material. The primary and secondary factors were shown: foaming temperature>particle size>foaming time>the ratio of starch and fiber. The porosity of biodegradable buffer material can reach as much as 72.02 percent.
