Abstract: Dodecyl polyglucoside was synthesized by glucose and dodecanol using P-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst. The effects catalyst type, proportion of material, reaction temperature and pressure were discussed in this paper. The most appropriate reaction conditions: mole ratio of laurel alcohol and glucose 6:1, mass of ratio of P-toluenesulfonic and glucose 0.008:1, reaction temperature 120°C and reaction pressure 5.0kPa.

Abstract: Nowadays, the stability of the mixed solution usually is improved by adding appropriate amount of emulsifier needed in many oil products, in order to reach the better effect of solution mulsification. In this paper, using silica gel column seperation to isolate pure ingredient of the emulsifier component, and all molecular structures prepared on silica gel were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectum and silid-state 1H NMR experimental observations.

Abstract: The alkyl phosphate prepared by phosphorus oxychloride and fatty alcohol contained a large amount of hydrochloric acid but no chloride. So the content of phosphate mono- and diester couldn’t be determined by conventional method. In this paper the content of hydrochloric acid was determined by potentiometric titration at first, and then the conventional method can be used to detect the content of mono- and diester and phosphoric acid. In this way each component of the alkyl phosphate can be ascertained accurately. The method was verified simply and conveniently by verification test that could avoid extraction, recrystalli- zation and other cockamamie operation. It also had stronger application and good reproducibility.

Abstract: This first part of this paper will introduce the mechanical-dynamical properties of polysiloxane defoamer thoroughly. Defoamers or foam breakers are added to eliminate the existing foam and usually act on the outer surface of the foam because a bubble is a closed system and the defoamer can only reach the outer surfaces. Then, some of synthesis methods and compounds under real application conditions are given, such as synthesis of methyl hydrogen silicone oil, synthesis methods of polyether and compounds of polyether modified polysiloxane defoamer.

Abstract: In this paper, with fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (AEO9), succinic anhydride (SA) and sodium hydroxide as raw materials, a new type of fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene carboxylate surfactants (SAE9C-Na) was obtained by esterification and neutralizing effect. The influencing factors were researched and its surface properties were studied. The optimum condition of synthesis was determined: molar ratio of alcohol to acid was 1:1.1, reaction temperature was 85°C, reaction time was 60 min, under this condition, the yield could reach up to 95.8%. The results received from this experiment showed that SAE9C-Na had excellent surface activity and foaming and foam stability, whose emulsification and solubility enhancement were improved greatly.

Abstract: High yield diglycerin borate(DGB) have been synthesized by the raw materials glycerol and boric acid in this paper. The structure of the products was characterized by FTIR and 11B NMR. The yield of the products was discussed by reaction conditions that were material ratio, reaction temperature, reaction pressure etc. and then the optimum process conditions of preparing DGB was decided. In this condition, high yield DGB can be prepared which could reach more than 96%.

Abstract: This study investigated the thermal properties of ester-type easy cationic dyeable poly(ethylene terephthalate) (ECDP) polymers using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), therogravimetric analysis (TGA). The mass ratios of 5-sodium sulfo bis(-hydroxyethyl) isophthalate(SIPE) for ECDP polymers were 2.8%, 5.5%, 6.8%, respectively. The fourth monomers were diethylene glycol adipate (DGA), diethylene glycol succinate (DGS) and diethylene glycol subacate (DES) with different contents. The results suggested that the Tg of ester-type ECDP decreased with the increasing the molecule weight of the fourth monomer at fixed SIPE and fourth monomer contents. The Tch of ECDP polymer to be lower than that of the CDP polymer with the same SIPE content. And it decreased as SIPE and fourth monomer contents increased, it also decreased with the increasing of the molecule weight of the fourth monomer given the same SIPE content. The effect of the ester-type soft segments reduced the Tm of ECDP. The thermal stability of ECDP polymer was less than PET and CDP polymers, and it decreased with increasing SIPE content, but increased with the ester-type fourth monomer content increasing.

Abstract: Dodecyl-borate ester (LB) was prepared by using laurel alcohol and boric acid as starting materials. The novel borate ester surfactant containing nitrogen (LNB) can be formed by reacting with diethanol amine and dodecyl-borate ester. The chemical structure of the product was identified by 1H NMR spectroscopy and IR spectrum. The stability of the foam formed was also evaluated. As expected, these surfactants exhibit good surface properties and show low foaming power. This paper mainly studies its antistatic behavior at different temperatures and in the different treatment. At the same time, we study foaming power at the optimal antistatic condition and scanning electron microscopy research it in textile fibers.

Abstract: Quantum dots (QDs) are normally based on the semiconductor materials and widely used in biosensing, bioimaging, biolabeling, and biotreatment for their excellent properties. The ecotoxicity research of QDs correspondingly kept in rising in recent years. CdTe and CdTe/ZnS QDs were prepared via an improved process in aqueous phase, morphology of QDs was characterized with transmission electron microscopy, and optical properties were investigated via fluorescence spectrum. Ecotoxicity of CdTe and CdTe/ZnS were assayed by measuring the inhibitory growth of Rhodococcus sp. strain C1 when QDs existed in broth culture, which was screened from sewage, and its morphology was characterized with optical microscope and scanning electron microscope. CdTe QDs showed strong inhibitory effect against growth of Rhodococcus sp. strain C1, and little growth was observed after 72h cultivation. CdTe/ZnS QDs showed prophasic inhibition before 36h, and growth recovery was observed after 48h of cultivation. Enhanced optical properties and decreasing ecotoxicity were validated after ZnS shell formation, these results indicated that CdTe/ZnS QDs with core-shell structure has great potential in bio-applications.

Abstract: We presented a fast, specific, and sensitive DNA sensing system, which composed of a CdTe/Fe3O4 magnetic core-shell quantum dots (energy donor), a commercial quencher (BHQ2; energy acceptor), and a designed single strand Toxoplasma gondii DNA. The designed single strand Toxoplasma gondii DNA was applied to link the energy donor and acceptor, and target DNA was detected based on mechanism of fluorescence resonance energy transfer. The CdTe quantum dots, Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles, CdTe/Fe3O4 magnetic core-shell quantum dots, and sensing probe were step-wisely prepared. Properties of synthesized quantum dots were investigated by transmission electron microscopy, fluorescence spectrum, nano zeta potential and submicron particle size analyzer, and X-ray diffraction, respectively. Specificity and sensitivity of sensing probe was determined by measuring the recovery of fluorescence intensity. The obtained sensing probe with magnetic properties can be simply separated or concentrated from the hybridized solution with a common magnet. The resulting data revealed the sensing system was successfully fabricated, and which has high sensitivity and specificity.
