Abstract: The helix flute grinding was important to machine a complex revolving tool. The geometric parameters (especial its rake angle, flute depth and flute width) have essential effect on the performances of the tool. Using the 6UPS parallel grinding machine developed from BEIHANG, especially after analyzing its special machining and structure features, this paper gave general analysis to all factors which will influence the flute shaping. According to the moving relationship between grinding wheel and the tool, a simulation modeling system was established. This system could be adopted to optimize and quantitative design that influence parameters deeply. The parameters refer to the grinding wheel defluxion, the grinding wheel thickness, the grinding wheel offset position along the X direction, and the flute depth. Experiments were carried out to verify the influence results.

Abstract: Vibration disk has certain influence on the resonance frequency of ultrasonic honing vibration system when ultrasonic honing device is designed. The results of theoretical calculation are basically conformed to that of experiments, which have been investigated by means of experimental and theoretical calculation method. This study provides a basis for the development of ultrasonic honing device. Undergoing practice we can find that the efficiency ultrasonic honing system as above described can be extended and applied to production. The system is a typical non-conventional machining, but it can be applied not only to conventional honing machine , its technology effect as good as high precision machine tool , but also to developing and studying ultrasonic vibrating numerical controlling honing machine tool which will provide a new type, efficient, high quality low consumption, equipment for working precision hole.
