Abstract: The microstructures have been investigated in steel plates with different rolling processes to find the reasons of yield ratio overseted standard in few high strength building steel plates produced in Echeng Iron and Steel Corporation. The effects of rolling path, rolling path depress ratio on microstructure and properties. Some reasons of yield ratio overseted standard have been analyzed. The results show that decreasing rolling paths and increasing depress ratio refined grains but unchanged area ratio and interlamellar spacing of pearlite. Yield strength excessively increased but tensile strength unchanged increased yield ratio. So, excellent properties can be obtained by applying the optimization process.

Abstract: Carbide precipitation in a Fe-C-Mo alloy was investigated by means of large compressive deformation and isothermal treatment utilizing Gleeble thermal simulator. The precipitated carbides were Fe3C, (Fe,Mo)2C, (Fe,Mo)3C and (Fe,Mo)6C. The dislocations and deformation bands formed by large compressive deformation promoted the carbide precipitation. It was found that the sequence of carbide precipitation was not changed by large compressive deformation.

Abstract: The isothermal transformation of pearlite in an Fe-0.27%C-3.15%Mo (weight percent) alloy applying large compressive deformation was investigated by means of thermal simulation, optical and scanning electron microscopy. The pearlite transformation was promoted by large compressive deforming on austenite, which is attributed to the effect of large compressive deformation on nucleation of pearlite transformation.
