Abstract: In the process of open mill mixing, the rubber material is mainly affected by shearing action and stretching action. In order to research the impacts that shearing action and stretching action have on the final mixing properties of rubber, firstly, the mill mixing process was simulated and calculated by PLOYFLOW software in the paper, and worked out the magnitude of shearing action and stretching action under different mixing conditions; then tested the properties of different kinds of mixing rubber which were mixed under different mixing conditions of open mill; finally, worked out the impacts which shearing action and stretching action have on the properties of mixing rubber by comparisons of the result of simulation and of the properties of mixing rubber.

Abstract: This article by groups of comparison, analyzes the impact of he content, the mesh size and the kinds of Rubber Powder to Modified asphalt properties. Experiments concluded that, the content of rubber powder has the most impact to rubber powder modifying asphalt properties, and when the content in 10%~20% has a optimal value; the mesh size is not the thinner the better; ordinary rubber powder has a high performance-price ratio.

Abstract: The six-wing synchronous varying clearance rotors which have been designed for the mixing of short fiber-rubber composite material have special structure, and considering the characteristic of the short fiber-rubber composite material, the flow situation of mixed rubber is very complex. However, the flow field of the six-wing synchronous varying clearance rotors can be analyzed by ADINA. So, the flow situation and mixing situation of the mixed rubber can be analyzed and judged by the FEA results such as the pressure field, viscosity field, shearing force field and velocity field.

Abstract: In this paper, the research of regeneration of waste EPDM has been done on the basis of a lot of reading of literature and collecting of information. It has neither the pollution of gas emission during the recycling of rubber in dynamic desulfurization tank under high temperature and pressure, nor the high energy consuming during the recycling of rubber using regenerant under normal temperature and pressure. Eventually, the regeneration of waste EPDM under low-temperature became a reality.

Abstract: This text introduced general flow field analyzed method about mixer flow in chamber, though analysis meshing rotor 3D flow field with the FEM.. While this process used six meshing-angles along the rotor circle for analysis the mixed mechanism of meshing rotors, which can improve mixer chamber’s structure and the quality of rubber etc.

Abstract: The paper is used to analyze the structure of traditional synchronous rotor from the perspective which the helix angle between long edge and short edge has some difference. The specialized viscoelastic fluid software--Polyflow is used to dynamic simulation analyze the two different kinds of rotors during the process of flow mixing, and then to analyze the two kinds of rotor performance through the result of transient flow simulation which mixed for one second. The analysis revealed that the improved synchronous rotor had better axial tensile properties in the case of remaining the original performance basically unchanged. And that could improve mixing performance and the production efficiency of mixer more effectively. There will provide a theoretical basis for the optimization of the rotor configuration in future.

Abstract: This paper mainly introduces two kinds of internal mixer rotor. The professional visco-elastic fluid software--Polyflow is used to obtain dynamic simulation analysis process of the two different types of meshing rotors. The transient flow field model’s simulation results of the two intermeshing rotors which have rotated for 180 seconds are used to analyze the performance of the two rotors. And these analyses can be theoretical references for optimal design of the rotor.

Abstract: Two-dimensional flow field simulation of two-wing synchronous rotor and four-wing synchronous rotor mixer were studied and the simulation computation of the fluid-structure interaction in a real sense were realized with FEM software. It can be concluded that the synchronous four-wing rotor can produce the pressure area for mixing rubber better than the synchronous two-wing rotor under the same conditions, and therefore, refining capacity and efficiency of the synchronous four-wing rotor are bigger than that of the synchronous two-wing rotor.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the three-dimensional temperature field of mixer chamber during the mixing process by using the finite element method. The paper focuses on analyzing the three-dimensional temperature field of mixer chamber, the distribution of heat transferring, and the influence of forced cooling on the mixing temperature, and has verified by experiment the accuracy of finite element simulation of mixer chamber temperature.

Abstract: The properites of a polyester short fiber-NR composites was investigated. The polyester short fiber-NR composites was made by the open mill. The properties of the composites, such as mechanical properties, vulcanization characteristics, and heat aging properties, with different quantities of polyester short fiber was studied. The experiment results showed that right amount of short fiber can increase mechanical properties of SFRC. The interface adhesion between short fiber and matrix is better, the composites have better the reinforcement and the heat aging properties.
