Abstract: Ionic liquids combine a set of proper ties like non-flammability, non-volatility, high ionic density and intrinsically high ionic conductivity; they also behave as good solvents for various chemical and electrochemical processes. These attributes make them appealing as alternative materials to replace conventional solvents, wherefore the interest in ionic liquid based materials for diverse electrochemical devices has boosted in the last few decades. The halogenated hydrocarbon and pyridine are used in the preparation of room temperature ionic liquid intermediates bromided N-octyl pyridine OPB, and the intermediate infrared spectrometer are used in chemical structure characterization, so it is determined that the product is the room temperature ionic intermediates OPB. Infrared spectrometer for the structure characterization is used, it is proved that OP-BF4 room temperature ionic liquid has been gotten. Both solvent polarity and acid alkali have an influence on ultraviolet spectrum diagram displacement of room temperature ionic liquid. If the ultraviolet spectrum diagram of ionic liquids and other solvent mixed solution is studied, it is necessary to indicate which solvent is used.

Abstract: Diatomite was treated by titanate coupling agent and blended with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) by the method of melt-mixing blend. The performance of the blends, such as thermal behavior, mechanical property and microstructure, were analyzed with differential scanning calorimetry, thermo-gravimetric analysis, tensile strength testing and scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that influenced the crystalline behavior of LDPE phase in the blends and made the crystallization rate of LDPE phase decreased. Moreover, the thermo-decomposing temperature of the blends increased with increasing the diatomite content, diatomite significantly improved the thermal stability of the blends. Tensile strengths of the blends firstly decreased and then increased. When the diatomite content was 30%wt, the tensile strength of the blend reached to 14.6MPa. SEM photographs showed the good dispersion and interaction.

Abstract: N-butyl Pyridine Nitrate ionic liquid is prepared by the double decomposition reaction of BPC and NaNO3. The ionic liquid at room temperature used in the experiment has a significant absorption determined by UV spectrum within the range of 200-400nm, the maximum absorption wavelength of BP-NO3 ionic liquid is 259nm. The standard working curve of BP-NO3 ionic liquid is y=0.04555x+0.05604 (R=0.99922). The recovery rate of BP-NO3 ionic liquid which is between 99.8% and 103.4%, is measured by standard addition method in ethanol.

Abstract: Synthesis of titanium dioxide sol was prepared by sol-gel method, using tetrabutyl titanate as source, ethanol as solvent, acetic acid as complexing agent. A transparent sol aging in air 30min, titanium dioxide films were prepared by using spin coating method. Congo red degradation was investigated by TiO2 photocatalysis. Study the efficiency of decolorization was influenced by the coating times, heat-treated time, the initial concentration of congo red and solution pH.

Abstract: Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) whiskers were firstly treated by sodium stearate, and then blended with polypropylene (PP) to prepare the composites by a closely intermeshing co-rotating twin-screw extruder at 200°C. The performance of the composites, such as thermal behavior, microstructure and mechanical properties, were analyzed with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and mechanical testing. The results showed that CaCO3 whisker influenced the crystalline behavior of PP phase in the blends because of its intervening. Moreover, thermo-decomposing temperature, tensile and bending strengths of the blends all increased with increasing whisker content. CaCO3 whiskers had good reinforcing and toughening effects on PP.
