Abstract: An air sweep vacuum membrane distillation process was used to treat brackish water desalination. The only operating parameter of the apparatus is the sweeping air flow rate. The effect of sweeping air flow rate on desalination was observed. The produced/condensed water rate was about 2.5 g/h for the PP module. The conductivity of produced water was about 92 μs·cm-1, the salt rejection was above 95%.

Abstract: Ethyl acetate was synthesized by catalytic distillation using packing solid super acid catalyst of SO42-/Al2O3 made by oneself. The effects of process parameters such as the ratio between acetic acid and ethanol, the feed flow rate of ethanol and reflux ratio on catalytic distillation were observed. The best operation parameters were determined. It was beneficial for synthesis of ethyl acetate when n(acetic acid)/n(ethanol) was 1/3, the feed flow rate of ethanol was 3mol/l and reflux ratio was 2.

Abstract: COD from heavy oil wastewater was removed by activated carbon on room temperature. It was showed that removal efficiency of COD reached above 65% under the condition of 50min of adsorption time, 7 of pH, 6g of the used activated carbon and 1kg of activated carbon was used to treat 1m3 of heavy oil waste water.

Abstract: For heavy oil wastewater from Henan oilfield, removal of silica has been investigated under the condition of different flocculants and reaction time when magnesia has been used as a desilica agent. An optimum method has been determined by conditional experiments, 63% of silica could be removed.

Abstract: The electrodialysis mehtod was used to treat waste phosphoric acid containing Al and Mo ions in this study. The feasibility study of elctrodialysis for treatment of the waste phosphoric acid containing metal ions was investigated. The voltage, solution concentration and feed temperature mainly affect electrodialysis of the phosphoric acid containing Al and Mo ions. Higher voltage and feed temperature are beneficial for desalination of Al and Mo ions. At least, 30% of Al ions and 7% of Mo ions can be removed from the phosphoric acid by using the CMX/AMX, CM1/AM1 and CMX-SB/ACS ion-exchange membranes. An electrodialysis process seems to be a promising process to treat waste phosphoric acid containing Al and Mo ions.
