Abstract: The construction safety supervision errors can lead to unsafe behavior; further affect the working conditions of workers and result in accidents at last. The probabilities of data are provided by statistical analysis between the different types of neighborhood-level factors by the independence of the chi-square test. The relationship analysis of the independence between the behavioral factors has been performed in order to find the non-independent factors. Among the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS), the impact of the high-level factors on the bottom level is determined. Based on the data, the work path of various factors in the HFACS frame is confirmed and it can be a reference for the development of the preventive measures.

Abstract: The primary objective of this paper is to study the seepage behavior of the cutoff wall and the working mechanism of the composite geo-membrane applied in the second stage cofferdam of the Three Gorges Dam. The mixture proportion of the plastic concrete applied in the cutoff wall is researched and a recommended proportion is put forward. The difference between the composite geo-membrane and single geo-membrane concerning mechanical strength and permeability is detected and reasons which lead to the difference are found. The test results indicate that the mechanical characters of the composite geo-membrane have been improved remarkably. It is demonstrated that the deformation ratio plays an important role in terms of the permeability by bursting test. The behavior of the composite geo-membrane and the effect of the composite materials in different work-stage are studied and the influence of the elasticity of the composite materials on the practical application of the composite geo-membrane is analyzed. It is found that the strength is not just the superposition of the strength of composite materials and membrane.

Abstract: The optimization of mixture proportion is determined by intensive tests based on designed index of the concrete in Three Gorges Dam. It is proved that the crack resistance of the concrete of the Dam is excellent by experiments and investigated results on site. The concrete is designed in a new method which is translated from traditional strength design into durability design. The effective additive and fly ash and moderate heat cement with micro-expansion are applied widely which enhance the capabilities of concrete essentially. So the long-term durability of the concrete in Three Gorges Project is ensured.
