Abstract: Put the finite element analysis of line tower coupling modeling to the collapse of a 110 kV line straight-line tower, study the effect of strong wind on transmission tower and wire. The results show that under the action of strong wind, the material specification selected by the part of the rods on the type of tower is lower, cross section is smaller, the principal material of tower will be instable and flexional under the compression, resulting in tower collapsed.

Abstract: The main objective of this paper is aim to take fatigue reliability updating evaluation of hydraulic steel gate based on the Bayes theorem. The fatigue cracks can be detected for existing structures, and fatigue reliability assessment can be updated by the nondestructive inspection. In this paper, based on the probabilistic characteristics for NDI techniques and the Bayes theorem, a fatigue reliability updating assessment model for existing steel gate components is proposed. The results showed that the fatigue reliability will increase with no cracks detected, decrease with unknown cracks detected, and change remarkably with cracks detected.

Abstract: The construction safety supervision errors can lead to unsafe behavior; further affect the working conditions of workers and result in accidents at last. The probabilities of data are provided by statistical analysis between the different types of neighborhood-level factors by the independence of the chi-square test. The relationship analysis of the independence between the behavioral factors has been performed in order to find the non-independent factors. Among the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS), the impact of the high-level factors on the bottom level is determined. Based on the data, the work path of various factors in the HFACS frame is confirmed and it can be a reference for the development of the preventive measures.

Abstract: The primary objective of this paper is to put forward a recommended equivalent calculated length coefficient for global stability analysis of the mono-overhanging steel beam applied widely in the steel building construction. The formulas of the total potential energy of the mono-overhanging beam are deduced firstly. Then the formula of the critical moment of the global stability of the mono-overhanging beam is obtained. By introducing the equivalent calculated length coefficient of the global stability and finding out the major factors which affected it, the formula of the coefficient is deduced. This formula includes two kinds of load acted on different position and it can make the global stability analysis of the mono-overhanging steel beam more convenient.

Abstract: The coming national specification for steel highway bridge will adopt the design method of probability limit state based on the structure reliability theory. Then the statistical parameters of loads and resistance play a key role in this method. Based on the extensive survey and investigation on site, the parameters of resistance are calculated in the study. In the work, three aspects of resistance’s uncertainty which are the uncertainty of materials properties, geometric parameters of members and calculation model are analyzed respectively. Then, the statistical parameters of five typical members of two commonly used steels—Q235q and Q345qD—in steel highway bridges are calculated. The recommended statistical parameters of resistance of steel highway bridge can be a reference for the new specification.
