Abstract: Bamboo is widely used in building construction in south China. However, Termites are the natural enemies of bamboo building. Therefore, the inhibition effect of extractives on building bamboo’s termite prevention was studied. The results shown that the benzene / ethanol extractives of camphor tree roots, camphor leaves,Cedrus deodara leaves needles, and torch pine leaves had the better toxic effect to termites among the 15 extractives.

Abstract: In order to explore the application prospects of wood extractives in the biomass energy, the several wood extractives were isolated by organic solvent. The results of functional analysis suggested that these wood extractives could accelerate benzene-alcohol’s burning, but played a certain role in inhibiting ether’s burning. This reslut revealed that the wood extractives had huge potential applications in the field of add-on bioenergy.
