Abstract: Remanufacturing is a new manufacturing mode in modern manufacturing environment. This paper had a survey on the uncertain problems in project-based remanufacturing system based on the analysis of the conception of project-based remanufacturing. On the basis, the uncertain problems in project-based remanufacturing systems, which including the uncertain factors, the description approaches for uncertain factors and the strategies to reduce the uncertain influence factors, was studied in detail based on the characteristic of project-based remanufacturing systems.

Abstract: To solve the problems in manufacturing execution system (MES) design and application, two key issues for MES is studied in this paper. Firstly, a six-layered service-oriented MES system architecture is putforward, which includes enterprises resource layer, component layer, service layer, business process choreography layer, presentation layer and system integration framework layer. Secondly, a multi-view system implementation mode for MES is studied from the aspects of function view, organization view, supporting technologies view and implementation process view. Finally, a case study is provided for its application.

Abstract: Information acquisition plays an important role on the production operation of modern job shop to achieve the goals of high efficiency, good quality, low cost, little resource consumption and low environmental impacts. This paper proposes the equipment integrated information acquisition system, the objective of which is to sense or collect the on-site information related with production operation in order to support managers’ decision-making or other application systems as basic data. The system architecture is constructed with five layer components. Furthermore, the two supporting technologies of the system are presented including the adapter definition in the adapter level and the establishment of template repository in the service level. Finally, the case study of the system is demonstrated by the application of acquiring production progress information in machining job shop.

Abstract: The real-time, the consistency and the accuracy of information transmission in cutting process are poor, and it is hard for manufacturing enterprises to enhance the machining efficiency and quality. Consequently, based on the real-time dynamic environment of cutting system and oriented to first-line production and operating workers, a networked optimal decision support system for cutting parameters was constructed; its system structure and function structure were described and its running mode was analyzed likewise. On the basis of research on the normative description of cutting process knowledge, an ontology-based description method of cutting process knowledge was proposed.

Abstract: The implementation and application of manufacturing execution system (MES) is an important way to improve the management level and realize information management for automobile parts manufacturing enterprises. System selection is the basis and prerequisite for MES implementation. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is applied in MES system selection in this paper based on the analysis of the MES system selection decision-making problem for automobile parts manufacturing enterprises. Firstly, the MES system selection decision indicators are established from the aspects of system technology performance, system suitability, quality of services and input-output of the MES system. On the basis, three solutions for MES system is analyzed and evaluated by AHP approach. The study of this paper provided a feasible solution for MES system selection decision-making.

Abstract: The interest in environmentally conscious manufacturing has increased due to the goal of reducing environmental impacts and resource consumption in manufacturing system. However, little pays attention to the issue in the production operational process of manufacturing system. This paper introduces a new tool that integrates environmentally-conscious information into the job assignment activities. The objective of the tool is to assist production managers in their decision-making regarding resource-saving and environmentally-friendly assignment schemes. The system framework is built up with six components. Furthermore, the two key issues of the system are presented including the description of the information flow in the function level and the establishment of models in the model layer. The prototype of the system is developed and the demonstration is fulfilled in the gear machining shop floor.

Abstract: Product knowledge reuse is more emphasized by discrete enterprises nowadays. But their small batches, multi-product, and high frequency new products development restricts them to reuse this. Analyze demands of knowledge reconfiguration in discrete enterprise. Propose a product feature based mathematical expression. Promote knowledge nodes of product-feature-model. Then use these models to fulfill KR process in KMS. Increase discrete enterprise’s adaptability and creativity in the nowadays rapidly changing-competitive business environment.

Abstract: Selecting an appropriate strategy is very important to the Green Manufacturing implementation. Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis is a commonly used tool for strategic management. Here SWOT analysis in combination with AHP is used to the selection of GM strategy. The strategic factors system of SWOT analysis for GM strategy is constructed by analyzing internal and external environments of the enterprise. Then AHP based SWOT analysis is introduced in detail. A case study demonstrates the application of AHP based SWOT analysis in GM strategy selection and shows its feasibility and validity.

Abstract: Green manufacturing (GM) is a sustainable manufacturing mode which comprehensive considers the environmental impact and resource consumption. Based on the analysis of state-of-the-art of digital technologies application in GM, this paper provides a green manufacturing-oriented digital system framework from the integration point of GM and digital manufacturing. The green manufacturing-oriented digital system framework is consists of five components which include the basic database for green manufacturing, software supporting layer for green manufacturing oriented digital system, digital system layer for green manufacturing, enterprise integration framework and product lifecycle based operation process layer. Furthermore, some key operation technologies for green manufacturing-oriented digital system is studied, which include product lifecycle based green design technology, and semantic framework model based information integration technology. Finally, the system is applied in an automobile manufacturing enterprise and achieves well application effects.

Abstract: To effectively realize the collaboration in manufacturing processes for extended enterprises, this paper provided a service-driven networked collaborative manufacturing execution platform and its framework based upon the analysis of requirements for networked collaborative manufacturing, and the components of the platform were deeply studied. Furthermore, the collaborative operation processes were studied from three processes which include the process of manufacturing resource services modeling and register, the process of manufacturing task committing and manufacturing execution chain generation, and the process of manufacturing execution chain execution and monitoring. The study of this paper provided a feasible system and operation mode for the extended enterprises in manufacturing process collaboration.
