Abstract: Nickel-base super alloy GH4169 is difficult to cutting and tool wear is very serious, because of its high strength, poor thermal conductivity, and serious work-hardening. In order to choose reasonable cutting parameters as to improve the processing efficiency, the cutting experiments were crarried out and the changes of workpiece material physical in cutting process were studied, and then thermostatic cutting method based on the longest distance is proposed in this paper. The best cutting temperature of carbide cutting tool YG8-GH4169 has been given. The experiments using diferent cutting parameters has proved the feasibility of thermostatic cutting method. Finally, the empirical formula of thermostatic cutting based on the cutting speed and feed rate is proposed, when using YG8 cutting GH4169.

Abstract: As high-speed steel tap is incapable of small-hole tapping (M3) in hardened steel, vibration tapping is introduced in this paper to solve this problem. Theoretic analysis with fracture mechanics indicates that the impact effect of the tap on the workpiece results in extended micro cracks and a much lower tapping torque. And the torsional rigidity of the tap is enforced in vibration tapping as proved by dynamic analysis. The experimental results show that with well chosen amplitudes, tapping torque decreases as vibration frequency increases and increases with the increase of net cutting time ratio, with the latter being the more significant influencing factor. In vibration tapping of hardened steel, 24 threads can be machined with a single tap. Vibration tapping is then proved to be a practical solution to the problem of small-hole tapping in hardened steel.

Abstract: Green cutting has become focus of attention in ecological and environmental protection. Water vapor is cheap, pollution-free and eco-friendly. Therefore water vapor is a good and economical coolant and lubricant. Water vapor generator and vapor feeding system are developed to generate and feed water vapor. The lubricating method of water vapor is that the water vapor jet flow is directly jetted on the cutting zone and it cancels the fluid phase penetrating the capillaries in cutting zone. So it increases the time reserve of penetration and improves the property of penetration and lubricating effect. In order to find the influenced disciplinarians on lubricating effect with nozzle diameter, the parameters of water vapor jet flow and cooling distance (the distance between nozzle and cutting zone), experiments are carried out which hard alloy YT15 (P10 type in ISO) tool is used in cutting C45 steel. Experimental results show that the cutting force becomes lowered and chip thickness becomes thinned with the nozzle diameter decreasing. With the saturated vapor pressure increasing and the cooling distance shortening, the cutting force is lowed and the chip thickness is thinned too. Therefore the application of water vapor as coolant and lubricant can realize the green cutting in industry.
