Abstract: Modern industry makes extensive use of various composite materials In this paper terahertz imaging method is proposed for evaluation of various composite materials adhesive joints. The results of inspection (A-scans and C-scans) as well as 2-D distributions of proposed parameters are presented for method validation.

Abstract: An eddy current method was applied to evaluate amount of sigma phase in duplex stainless steel. In the preliminary experiments several transducers configuration were considered. The performance of the transducers were verified utilizing samples having different amount of sigma phase. The configurations presenting the greatest possibility of evaluation of sigma phase were chosen for further experiments. In this paper a dedicated transducer operating in differential mode will be presented. The results will be shown and discussed.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present the results of observation of material degradation process in steel samples under combined conditions of static and cyclic dynamic loading, using selected electromagnetic NDT methods. To evaluate damages a Barkhausen noise observation, an AC magnetization, a magnetic flux leakage and eddy current method were used.

Abstract: In certain applications (security, biomedical, food and wood testing etc.) it is necessary to detect and identify position of small metal particles with high precision. This paper presents an eddy current system designated for evaluation of conductivity distribution. The system was modeled using the finite element method as well as it was constructed and the measurements were carried out. Using these results a data base of the signals achieved for various configurations of the test objects were created. The data base was utilized to solve the identification problem. Artificial neural networks were utilized as the inverse models in order to reconstruct two-dimensional distribution of conductivity. Selected results achieved for simulated signals were presented.

Abstract: In this paper an adaptive scanning algorithm for Eddy Current Non-Destructive Testing (EC NDT) is proposed. It is based on neural prediction of EC signals. A set of experiments were carried out in order to prove usability of the method (verification by numerical analysis and measurements of INCONEL 600 1.25 mm thin plates). Proposed algorithm may be used as a part of intelligent NDT system.
