Abstract: A new multi-state HLLD (‘‘D’’ stands for Discontinuities.) approximate Riemann solver for Riemann problem of nonlinear elastic solid is developed based on the assumption that a wave configuration for the solution that consists of five waves (two slow waves, two fast waves and a contact discontinuity) separating six constant states. Since the intermediate states satisfied with the Rankine-Hugoniot relations in this approximate Riemann system are analytically obtained, the HLLD Riemann solver can be constructed straightforwardly. The Piecewise Parabolic Method (PPM) is used directly to construct high-order finite-volume schemes. Numerical tests demonstrate that the scheme PPM coupled with HLLD is robust and efficient. It indicates that the scheme PPM+ HLLD can be useful in practical applications for the non-linear elasticity.

Abstract: Based on Navier-stokes equations, Weiss-Smith matrix preconditioning method is implemented within pseudo time derivative term. AUSM+-up family schemes and LU-SGS implicit iterative method were used to solve low speed flows and were compared with literature data and theoretical value. Through comparing calculation with the literature data and theoretical value, The Results showed the preconditioning algorithm can be applied efficiently to the low speeds flow field ,All these works built foundations for further application of chemical flows.

Abstract: A proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) method is applied to study the global stability analysis for flow past a stationary circular cylinder. The flow database at Re=100 is obtained by CFD software, i.e. FLUENT, with which POD bases are constructed by a snapshot method. Based on the POD bases, a low-dimensional model is established for solving the two-dimensional incompressible NS equations. The stability of the flow solution is evaluated by a POD-Chiba method in the way of the eigensystem analysis for the velocity disturbance. The linear stability analysis shows that the first Hopf bifurcation takes place at Re=46.9, which is in good agreement with available results by other high-order accurate stability analysis methods. However, the calculated amount of POD is little, which shows the availability and advantage of the POD method.
