Abstract: Cutting force experiments in turning aluminum-silicon alloy were carried out with cement carbide tool YG8. Experimental formulae of cutting force, back force and feed force were determined based on multi-variable linear regression analysis, and they were verified by analysis of variance, the results showed that the regressed models could be used to predict cutting force under certain conditions.

Abstract: Cutting force experiments in turning aluminum-silicon alloy ZL104 are carried out with cement carbide tool YG8. The influence of cutting parameters on cutting force is obtained based on single factor experiments. The results indicate that depth of cut and feed rate have great influence on cutting force while cutting speed provides just little impact.

Abstract: Tool wear experiments in turning titanium alloy Ti6Al4V in the solution-treated and aged condition were carried out; the influence rules of cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth on the tool life were obtained. Experimental formula of tool wear was regressed based on multi-variable linear regression analysis, it could predict tool life under certain conditions.
