Abstract: Red sandstone with a strong water softening can cause difficulties of construction projects, especially for slope excavation and support engineering. Therefore, the study on the engineering properties of saturated red sandstone has a important meaning. The mechanical parameters of saturated red sandstone are obtained by the triaxial compression tests. The test results indicate that the ralations between peak strength, elasticity modulus and confining pressure for the saturated specimens are similar with the natural specimens, that is, with the increasing of confining pressure, the peak strength and the elasticity modulus will increase, but the growth rate becomes slowly. Under the same confining pressure, the peak strength and the elasticity modulus of saturated specimen are more smaller than the natural one. The mechanical damage caused by water recedes when the confining pressure increases, so for the geotechnical engineering with larger influence of water, the increasement of confining pressure by the supporting structures is conducive to the stability of rock mass. The research results will provide a theoretical basis for the red sandstone engineering.

Abstract: The masses, elastic wave velocities of sandstone specimens under chemical corrosion and pH values of solutions soaking specimens are tested in different soak time. It is indicated that elastic wave velocity can be utilized to perform time-dependent test research on the same specimen with the advantage of being highly sensitive to micro void and without damage on specimen in the testing process. The test results show that the relationships between the masses and the chemical solutions are small. The chemical erosion action on rock will reach a relative equilibrium status in a certain time in the closed chemical environment and pH value will reach ultimately one stable value which will be decided by the rock characteristics. The alkalescence of sandstone decides that the solutions of soaking specimen will turn to alkalescence.

Abstract: In this paper, the experimental study on the mechanical property of limestone under triaxial compression with different hydrochemical environments is conducted and the non-linear characteristics of complete stress-strain process of limestone subjected to chemical corrosion, are analyzed. The behaviors of deformation and strength of limestone eroded by different chemical solutions are obtained. It is known from the experimental and analytical results that different chemical environments such as chemical composition, pH value etc can affect the mechanical property of rock differently. How to establish a multifactor characteristic constitutive model which can reflect different chemical environments is the key problem to study the coupling corrosion effect of stress and chemistry of rock. The constitutive model of evolutionary neural network for rock under chemical corrosive environments is put forward, and the neural network constitutive relationship under stress-chemistry coupling corrosion is established by applying the theory of evolutionary computation and neural network. The neural network constitutive model established in this presented paper mainly takes into account the following three aspects: chemical environments of rock specimens, content of main mineral compositions that are liable to being eroded by chemical solution, and mechanical environments. The results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
