Abstract: With the development of printing technology, greater emphasis has been laid on environmentally friendly materials. Due to its printability and environmental friendliness, Water-based flexo ink is gradually gaining popularity at home and abroad, and has been widely applied in the field of printing. Different from other kinds of bills, scratch-type invoices have an additional scratch area on the surface, which highly covering performance is required for the ink applied. This paper emphatically analyzes and discusses: (a) flexo water-based covering ink and its application in scratch-type invoice covering region printing; (b) how to explore and evaluate new developed green inks. Compared with traditional inks, the water-based flexo ink is free of emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC), and its popularization might have significant meanings for the environment protection and sustainable development.

Abstract: The thickening after preparation phenomenon of ink refers to the viscosity of ink after preparation is constantly changing during its storage process. The appropriate increase of ink viscosity during its storage plays an important role in preventing the particles of pigment sedimentation. The utility of the ink is negatively affected by the rise of viscosity of ink that is over a certain range during the process of storage. The rise is a result of the broken of the system stability owing to some physical and chemical factors. In order to improve the stability of ink during its storage, not only the viscosity changes of ink prepared by pigment and resin with different kinds of functional group during storage are measured, but also the chemical factors contribute to the thickening after preparation phenomenon of ink are analyzed. What is more, the viscosity changes of ink prepared by different constituent content during storage are measured, and the physical factors lead to the thickening after preparation phenomenon of ink are analyzed as well. According to the research results, the functional groups of pigment and resin set off a chemical reaction in alcohol system, which is the main reason for the thickening after preparation phenomenon of ink. The constituent content of ink is the essential physical factor that influences the thickening after preparation phenomenon of ink.

Abstract: The formation of color images are generally divided into two methods: additive color imaging based on color light mixture and subtractive color imaging based on colorant mixture. Additive color imaging refers to the color image mixed by a certain percentage of the three primary color lights: red (R), green (G) and blue (B), such as LED display, cell phone screens, digital cameras and others. Subtractive color imaging refers to the color image generated by light mixture reflected by each colorant, due to some light of different wavelength in the white light separately absorbed by certain colorant after mixing a certain percentage of the three primary colorant: cyan (C), magenta (M) and yellow (Y). Inkjet, color laser printing, inkjet printing, etc. belong to the subtractive color imaging. Most commonly, printing also belongs to the subtractive color imaging. This thesis is based on the characteristics that fluorescent materials can produce colors under UV excitation, designing and preparing three fluorescent inkjet inks which can respectively produce red (R), green (G), blue (B) under UV light excitation, using inkjet printers to print color images, investigating the imaging mechanism of the additive color based on fluorescence inkjet printing, and observing the imaging results. The results show that color effect of monochrome image is good, and the color deviation is large after overlapping different colors.

Abstract: Dispersity is one of the most important factors that affect the covering property of ink. In order to obtain the black water-based ink with high covering property, study the dispersity of ink, by changing the variety of both pigments and resins, the ratio of pigment to resin, the variety and the content of dispersants to prepare based ink, by testing the diameter size to explore the factors that affect the dispersion of black water-based covering ink. It has been proved that the interaction between different pigments and resins is the key factor that influences the dispersion property of the black water-based covering ink. The dispersity property of the resin to pigment depends on a great extent on the ratio of pigment to resin. The result also proved that different kind of dispersants and content are also important factors that influence the dispersion property.
