Abstract: Determination of a SDOFS elastic input energy is the primary problem to solve for energy-based design approach. The effect of ground motion and damping ratio were analyzed on the input energy spectra. is selected as the compound ground motion intensity indicator to represent the damage potential of strong ground motion. Through inputting of 188 seismic records according to the site classification of Chinese seismic code, three-segment elastic energy spectra are proposed based on normalization methods. The calculation formula of the peak and the value of long-period section of the input energy spectra are presented for four categories of site conditions by statistical analysis. Moreover, calculation procedure of the total energy input is given in the paper.

Abstract: Study was carried out on the disadvantages of QR method while calculating structures and programming currently. According to its basic idea, the necessary condition for more simplification was pointed out. In the process of simplification, the shape function matrix and node displacement were calculated and saved only for parts of elements, the element stiffness matrix and load array were divided into sub-blocks, thereafter, these sub-blocks were multiplied by coefficients of certain items, finally assembled into the spline-discretization stiffness matrix and load array according to the series and spline knots number that were corresponding to nodes. One model was calculated by QR program with the method simplified or not and other methods. Results prove that this simplified approach is correct, feasible and suitable for structure calculation. It has a good theoretical and practical value.

Abstract: With the generalized displacement parameters of spline knots chosen as basic unknowns, the node displacement functions of spatial mega frames were built up, then element node displacements could be expressed by these parameters. New stiffness equation of spatial mega frame was deduced according to energy variational principle. The nodal displacement and nodal forces were worked out by the displacement parameters of spline knots. Process of block assembling for spline-discretization matrix was introduced briefly. One spatial mega frame was calculated by QR method and different finite element softwares. Comparation among the results and those of references proves that QR method is exactly an economical, effective and reliable method for computation of spatial mega frames. It provides a new approach for simplified calculation to spatial mega structures, so has good theoretical and practical value.

Abstract: Seismic performance of a kind of superposed wall, which is composed of two precast panels and the cast- in- place core concrete, was studied in the paper. Two groups of superposed wall units with different edge elements were constructed and tested under quasi- static reversed cyclic loading. The strength, stiffness, ductility, energy dissipation and failure modes of the walls under lateral load were investigated, and the influence of different edge elements to the seismic response of the wall panels was discussed. Moreover, numerical simulation analysis was conducted applying multi- spring (MS) model with the finite element analysis procedure CANNY. Results of the inelastic analysis were compared with the experimental ones to validate the reasonability of the numerical model and evaluate the seismic response of superposed walls further.
