Abstract: As the zinc minerals of easy separation drying up, efficient utilization of refractory zinc oxide ores is getting more and more attention, especially for siliceous zinc oxide ore is quite difficult to separate, and it is a challenge for worldwide mineral processing industry. This article mainly used the density functional theory and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to study the adsorption mechanism of amine collectors on hemimorphite, when the composite activator was working.

Abstract: This ore from Vietnam contains a lot of slime, disseminated extent of valuable mineral is fine, and the gold grade of raw ore is low; therefore, this ore is hard to concentrate. Through the study can be found that qualified indices are not able to be obtained through single gravity separation or single flotation. Based on the analysis of test data, and taking the nature of the ore into account, proposed a united process of gravity separation and flotation. The test results show that the process has achieved qualified results.

Abstract: The flotation experiment of ilmenite from magnetic tailings in Panzhihua with the new collector(RTB) is investigated.The satisfactory result is obtained in once roughing-once cleaning-once scavenging circuit batch testing of flotation by using RTB as a collector,CMC as a depressant,and sulfuric acid as pH regulator. The TiO2 grade of titanium concentrate is 46.87 percent,and the recovery is 50.77 percent with the TiO2 grade 11.81 percent. Compared with collect(MOS) which are used in production,RTB has obviously not only advantages of selecting and collecting capability, but also advantages of costs.

Abstract: Ore samples, collected from a lead-zinc oxide ore deposit in Sichuan province, China, are very difficult to treat with such characteristics as low grade, uneven mineral particle distribution and high containing of slime. It is very difficult to separate the lead minerals and zinc minerals, especially for the recovery of zinc oxide minerals. On the basis of flotation characteristics study to gangue and useful minerals, author studied flotation behavior of lead-zinc oxide ore with new collectors (KM21 and YO-1), and carried out the experiment on separating useful minerals from gangue minerals. Test results showed, a lead concentrate with a grade of 59.78 percent and a recovery of 86.49 percent and a zinc concentrate with a grade of 48.53 percent and a recovery of 84.92 percent were obtained from the crude ore with the oxidation rate of 74.34 percent and 89.30 percent of lead and zinc respectively, which realized the high efficient flotation separation of the refractory lead-zinc oxide ores.

Abstract: Rude ores, which were collected from two lead-zinc oxide ore deposits in Sichuan province, are very difficult to process with low grade and uneven mineral dissemination. It is very difficult to separate valuable minerals from gangue minerals, especially for the recovery of lead and zinc minerals. On the basis of mineral characteristic study, author studied flotation technology on lead-zinc mineral, and gained satisfactory concentrate indicator by stage-grinding: the lead concentrate with a grade of 52.45 percents and a recovery of 79.30 percents and the zinc concentrate with a grade of 35.26 percents and a recovery of 87.57 percents .

Abstract: This paper presents the sulfidisation promotion effect of ammonium sulfate on the sulfidisation flotation of both malachite and copper oxide ores. Copper oxide ores are commonly difficult-to-float due to its molecular structure, and adding sodium sulfide as activator is necessary; however, its dosage to the flotation pulp must be strictly controlled, as it is also a powerful depressant for copper sulfide minerals, and will, if in excess, depress the activated copper oxide minerals. This depression will be alleviated while ammonium sulfate is added, as it accelerates the speed of sulfidisation, and alleviates excessive sulfide ions on the depression of copper oxide minerals. Ammonium sulfate, therefore, may be a sulfidisation promoter, and plays a role of sulfidisation promotion effect; it makes the coating of sodium sulfide on the ore surface more dense and stable, which is ready for xanthate adsorption on the surface of copper oxide minerals. The results of experiments show that the flotation recovery is increased 12.28% while ammonium sulfate is added in the presence of excessive sodium sulfide in the pulp, and the highest recovery is obtainable when the ammonium sulfate and sodium sulfide are in the same dosages. The sulfidisation promotion effect of ammonium sulfate is confirmed by pure copper oxide mineral flotation test and copper oxide ores flotation test, as well as by SEM images of floated malachite.

Abstract: Tangdan copper oxide ore deposit, located in the northeast Yunnan province of China, is the largest independent copper oxide deposit in China. The ore from the deposit is characterized by low grade, high oxidation ratio and fine-grained dissemination, which results in the poor flotation recovery. The analysis of plant flotation data reveals that the loss of copper minerals into tailings is mainly with coarse size fraction, due to its insufficient liberation and finer size, especially for the size fraction below 10 microns, which are very difficult to be floated with conventional flotation methods. In order to improve the flotation performance of the ore, laboratory tests include Hallimond flotation and vacuum flotation were respectively conducted with pure malachite, the dominant copper oxide mineral in the deposit; and the results indicate that a finer grinding fineness up to -325 mesh even -400 mesh is required to decrease the copper loss in the coarse size fraction, and vacuum flotation provides a promising way for the recovery of ultrafine malachites.
