Abstract: Outward directed surface extraction from imaging modalities is the first task in the design of implants. In this paper a method based on level set method is proposed to extract the directed surface from CT images. The process is composed of two steps. In the first step, Level Set method with a new speed function is employed to evolve zero level set to its destination and used to cut the desired bone part from the input CT images. In the second step, a simple method is used to extract the directed surface, usually the outward surface, from the separated bone part by removing the interior surface. The experimental results show the proposed method works well.

Abstract: Geometric models often contain small features that we would like to remove, including small extrusions and holes. Feature removal can be desirable for many reasons, including finite element simulation, analysis of feature purpose and so on. In this study, an algorithm based on level set method is proposed to remove the small features. First, we initialize the zero level set in such a way that the zero level set includes the input model. And then the zero level set evolves towards the input model based on a novel speed function. When zero level set stops moving, a simplified model without small features can be got. The method receives approval from the experimental results.

Abstract: On the basis of analysis and summary of the research of the others, we choose the notepad as the carrier of the data file and a code as the expression of the feature information of the products, embedding them in the 3D CAD system like a plug-in unit. In this way, the products’ data accurate transmission between distributed and isomeric CAD systems over the internet is realized. This method can also be used in the real-time collaborative design system.

Abstract: In this paper, a kind of product numbering system for single piece/small batch customization manufacturing and its process organization is put forward based on the current status of Shenyang Heavy Machine Manufacture Group Co. Ltd. and the trends of advanced manufacturing technology such as PDM/ERP etc. The numbering system developed includes all of relative public information data such as product order, design, process plan, manufacturing, marketing, consumer servicing and so on. A more favorable condition is created to realize the share of relative information in the different departments of the company and to improve the response to the market.

Abstract: Aiming at the characteristics of turbine compressor’s impellers, such as complexity in surface, assembled structure and variety in parameter, the step-by-step design thought is put forward, which realizes the high efficiency and visualization of parameterized design through distributing design parameters evenly to several phases or interfaces. According to the demand of the enterprise, SolidWorks CAD Software was chosen as the three-dimensional CAD platform, SQL Server 7.0 was chosen as the database management system, and Visual C++ was chosen for the programming language of secondary developing. Then the parameterized design system for series turbine compressor impellers is developed, which realizes automatic creation of 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using template technique.
