Abstract: This paper introduces the basic conception of the reverse engineering, process of digital measurement and 3-D modeling method based RE technology: one is based on point-curve-curved surface reconstruction, and the other is based on point-curved surface fitting directly. According to the first method, the processes of data gathering, cloud data processing and 3-D model rebuilding are introduced through reconstructing the 3-D models of the gauge board and left board in Imageware and UGNX. Using the reverse engineering technology in product design will shorten the period of developing a new product and accelerate it’s response to the market.

Abstract: With the necessity and importance of reconstructing medical image model on the medical application and research, a variety of methods reconstructing human body tissues were introduced according to different original data and application purposes. The different reconstruction processes of human pelvic tissues, molar and incisor models are detailed. This proves the validity and feasibility of the different means.

Abstract: For the reconstruction model of medical image data has necessity and importance to the medical application and research, a variety of methods to reconstruct human skeleton using reverse engineering technology were introduced. One human bone and one femur were reconstructed respectively using the different methods according their different data resource and rconstuction purpose. The output proved the validity and feasibility of the different reconstruction schemes.

Abstract: Welding Continuous Cooling Transformation (CCT) graph reflects the relationship between microstructure, hardness of steel heat-affected zone (HAZ), weld and welding cooling rate continuous cooling from high temperature, and it is the basic to select welding material, determine the optimum welding technology, relieve welding cracks and lay down standard of past heat treatment. Welding technological parameters determine welding cooling rate, and the rate determines microstructure, hardness of steel HAZ and weld, therefore we can calculate microstructure according to known welding technological parameters and optimum parameters according to wanted properties based on CCT graph. The system combines CAD and welding techniques, the welding CCT graphs are made into drawing blocks at the platform of AutoCAD, the important data of welding CCT are made into database, they are transferred and managed by Access. Based on Active Automation techniques using Visual Basic, AutoCAD graph base are transferred and data of welding CCT can be inquired and dynamically added to the base. The system has realized the prediction of welding structure and properties and optimizing welding technology.

Abstract: The algorithm to obtain intersecting lines from section and equidistance surface is one method of resolving the problem of obtaining NC machining procedure from points cloud data. As far as cutter paths obtained by section method are concerned, if intersecting lines using tangent plane and processed curved surface are obtained directly, it will be a quite complicated process and lead to divergent iteration operation because of inconsiderate design algorithm, and therefore it leads to the failure of obtaining intersecting lines. So the method of obtaining intersecting lines from section and equidistance surface is adopted. And this paper put forward and has realized one new algorithm. The calculation is simple and the algorithm is stable. It avoids the interference of cutting tool paths.

Abstract: RE is the generic name of a series of technical methods that convert physical parts into engineering concepts and CAD model. It has been an important branch of modern design methodology. With the development of computer and graphic design, RE has already no longer met the simple imitation products, but product innovation based on physical parts. In order to redesign the CAD model constructed by RE method and then support product innovation, hybrid CAD modeling method and some related key techniques are studied in this paper. Combining conventional design and RE, Hybrid CAD modeling method extracts features, constraints, and design intent from measured data for parametric redesign and eventually completes CAD model.
