Abstract: Using polymer as a surfactant, we successfully synthesized of PbTiO3 crystals with a self-assembly structure by a hydrothermal process. The as-obtained powders were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that the presence of PVP, PEG and PVA plays a key role on the formation of self-assembly structure and the corresponding formation mechanism was briefly discussed.

Abstract: Fe-doped Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 was successfully synthesized by a hydrothermal method. Magnetic loops measured at room temperature indicate that the magnetism of NBT crystals can be controlled by Fe doping concentration. The magnetism of the Fe-doped Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 crystals develops from diamagnetism to ferromagnetism on increasing Fe doping concentration from 0 to 60mol %. The results presented in this study may provide an approach to widely exploring more multiferroic materials.
