Abstract: Garbage processing is an important content in environment protection.Garbage crusher plays a key role in garbage processing. To enhance design rapidity and quality of garbage crusher, a new garbage crusher variant design methodology based on parameterization is proposed. The principle of variant design based on parameterization is introducted. Parametric model of garbage crusher is established and analyzed. A new product information model is established according to the mating relationship type among constituent parts of assembly. The product information model included several sub-models. It can be droved by parametric dimension, which is defined by customers’ requirement to get customized product’s design scheme. Garbage crusher variant design plug-ins based on SolidWorks is developed with VC++. The garbage crusher’s variant design is implemented.

Abstract: Abstract. Car cabin front suspension bracket (CCFSB) plays a supporting role of cab which connected cab cabin and chassis parts. In the conventional design, CCFSB is large and heavy usually to ensure its design strength. Therefore, structure optimization design is becoming the focus on the design of CCFSB. To solve the problem, this paper presents a structure optimization design method of CCFSB based on HyperWorks. The “Analysis-OptiStruct-Refine-Analysis-Contrast” method is proposed to realize the structure optimization. By the process of “meshing-loading- calculating- view of results”, the result of structure optimization of CCFSB is got which shows materials distribution. Trough taking OptiStruct optimization, the weight of CCFSB is reduced about 39% but stiffness is increased. The performance of product is improved and the cost is reduced greatly.

Abstract: Angularity is an important parameter to evaluate the position precision. According the new generation of GPS, a new method of evaluating plane to plane angularity error based on coordinate rotation was proposed. In the process of evaluation, first the datum plane is associated by the minimum zone method; and then the datum plane is transformed into the ideal coordinate system plane. Based on the ideal datum, the plane is obtained by coordinate rotation; angularity error value is the maximum distance subtracts the minimum distance that measured points to the plane. The measurement for a V-groove in arbitrary position is performed on a three dimensional coordinates measuring machine; the result shows that angularity error can be evaluated effectually and accurately using this algorithm.

Abstract: Product variant design is one of the key technologies of Manufacturing Enterprise for responding market demand. During the product variant design, tolerance variant design plays an important role. However, tolerance variant design is considered rarely in the researches of product variant design. To solve the problem of tolerance design in product variant design, a component variant design method integrating dimension and tolerance is presented in this paper. The fundamental and implement of component dimension variant design is introduced. Through analyze the conventional tolerance design method; the status for tolerance variant with its implemental dimension is marked as fixed tolerance value, fixed tolerance grade and tolerance value variant with special regular. The equation of dimensional tolerance variants with the value of implemental dimension is presented. So the procedure of component variant design method integrating dimension and tolerance is proposed. Finally, a case study of output shaft of reducer illustrates the implemental process of proposed method. Result comparing with conventional method shows effectiveness of proposed method.
