Abstract: The green design of products is highly beneficial in the alleviation of environment burdens. During the product lifecycle, energy-consumption is one of the main roots of environmental pollution. Therefore, energy optimization for green design is an important path to reduce the environmental pollution. Sequentially, the concept of the energy design factor was presented, which was applied in the energy-optimizing design of the mechanical product in the use stage. Based on the analysis of function in the use age of products, the energy consumption information of products was extracted. During the use stage of products, the energy-consuming model was established. Then the energy design factors was extracted and applied to the energy optimization design of products. Finally, the model and method in the paper were validated by a case of motorcycle’s clutch.

Abstract: Laser combined machining is a complex machining method which utilizes the combined effect of various forms of energy to achieve a material processing. High manufacturing quality and surface accuracy, and machining efficiency can be achieved. The research progress in the area of laser combined other machine processes is reviewed. Several methods of laser combined machining are introduced and their characteristics and applications from the point of the laser assisted liquid machining are investigated. For example, laser assisted wet etching and laser assisted jet electrochemical machining, and waterjet-guided laser machining are reported. The experimental and theoretical studies of the technologies to improve the machining performance are discussed. Finally, the existing problems and the future research directions of the laser compound processing are put forward .

Abstract: Medium plays an important role in the laser and fluid corrosion combining processing. Through X-ray diffraction analysis of chemical composition on the tool steel surface after laser-chemical processing, its chemical resultant is researched and analyzed. And the chemical reaction process of the laser and chemical hybrid etching of the tool steel material is explicated. Applied electron microscopy to surface morphology observation, under the action of laser beam, the effect of different chemical media corrosion on tool steel material is studied. The chemical mechanism of material removal of combining processing of laser and chemical corrosion on tool steels is discovered.

Abstract: Diamond films was deposited on cemented carbide tools with two-step pretreatment method under different distances between the substrates and hot filaments, and the effect of the distance between the substrates and hot filaments on the crystallographic orientation of diamond films and the characteristics of diamond coated tools was investigated in bias-enhanced HFCVD system in this paper. The cutting performance of diamond coated tools was verified by the experiments of cutting particles reinforced aluminum base composite material with 15 vol.% Si as compared with uncoated ones. The quality of diamond film was analyzed by means of Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The optimization deposition processing was obtained. The relative intensity ratio of (111) facet and (220) facet in the film tested by XRD was one third. The cutting performance of diamond coated tool was improved significantly when machining the Si particle reinforced aluminum-based metal matrix composite; its lifetime was 30 times longer than that of uncoated one. The work done in this paper was of great practical significance to accelerate the industrialization of diamond films coated WC–Co substrates.
