Abstract: The internal parameters of ball mill are very important in the grinding process and have significant impact on the grinding results. Accurate measurement of the internal parameters of ball mill is crucial and indispensable for optimization and control of grinding process. In this paper, a novel tri-sensor measurement method was used to measure the external signals (i.e., bearing pressure, sound intensity and power consumption) of ball mill. Mathematical models, which link the external signals of ball mill with its internal parameters, were established to predict the internal parameters of ball mill. Experimental results showed that the mathematical models could directly predict the internal parameters of ball mill once the external signals were obtained. The tri-sensor measurement method and the mathematical models proposed in this paper provided a new way and solid basis for optimization and control of ball milling.

Abstract: The test for deep reduction and efficient separation of Lingyang iron ore from Linjiang that cannot be separated and utilized by any conventional mineral processing technology was conducted in the Laboratory, and the research results showed that iron from Lingyang iron ore was recovered effectively. In this paper, the effect of reduction temperature, time and coal content on reduction was analyzed, and the process of deep reduction and efficient magnetic separation was investigated. Furthermore, on such optimum conditions of deep reduction as reduction temperature 1275°C, time 50min, and coal content 40%, the reduction products were separated in the flowsheets of magnetic separation after fine grinding and the iron powder products with iron grade 79.58% and recovery 62.77% were obtained.

Abstract: The changing characteristics of iron mineral along with the reduction time in reduction of a high phosphorus oolitic hematite by carbon were discussed in the paper. The grain growth of metallic iron was investigated in detail. The results showed that the iron mineral in reduction of the oolitic hematite changed as Fe2O3→Fe3O4→FeO→Fe, and finally was reduced to metallic iron. As the reduction time elongated, the small grain of metallic iron gathered toward the larger one and grew up. The metallic iron existed in the reduction products in the form of larger grains of metallic iron.

Abstract: The composition of Deoxidized Samples of Bayan Obo Oxidized Iron Ore is complex with high content of residual reducing C, Fe phase in the RDP is ferrous metal what is hard and malleable resulting in pessimistic grindability. Gravity-magnetic separation process flow is adopted with C pre-rejecting, stage grinding (-0.074mm -57.18%, -0.074mm -85.66%) and coarse-fine fraction separate treatment base on RDP process characteristic. The final concentrate has 92.02% Fe with 93.27% Fe recovery, 94.18% Fe metallization which may utilize as rough materials for steelmaking and the final tailings has 15.10% REO with 97.15% REO recovery which may utilize as rough materials for REO concentration.

Abstract: The diatomite-cellulose composite fiber (DCCF) was used to modify the asphalt for pavement, and then the DCCF-modified asphalt was researched by DSC from the point of congeries state and energy change, the temperature and heat absorption of the phase transition as index, combined with the macro-road performance of asphalt. The results showed that the high/low-temperature performance and temperature susceptibility of the DCCF-modified asphalt were all improved obviously and would be the best if the modifier dosage was 0.5%. DSC could effectively explain the influence of DCCF on the properties of asphalt from the view point of congeries state and energy change, and the variation were consistent with the Macro-mechanical properties test results of the modified asphalt.

Abstract: Dongguashan copper ore is one of a complex copper sulphide ores containing various metal minerals in Tong ling area. In this paper, in order to simplify the complexity of traditional lime process, the process of Cu-S bulk flotation-regrinding-separation is discussed and exploited. A good quality of Cu concentrate and S concentrate are obtained respectively after Cu-S separation by using calcium hypochlorite as depressant. A good separation results are derived through this process, and high efficiency of calcium hypochlorite used as depressant and feasibility of the process are confirmed.

Abstract: The test of low grade Mo ore preconcentration index according to different separation threshold value was studied in this article. The results indicated that preconcentration index varies with the block of feeded material. Under the same test conditions ,the beneficiation index of -100+60mm size class particle was better than the other grain-sized particles and too large or too small particles all can affect the preconcentration index adversely.

Abstract: In this paper, the natural zeolite as raw material, zeolites was prepared by organic amines hydrothermal synthesis. The results are characterized by SEM and nitrogen adsorption / de-commanded test, and study the influence of the aging time, crystallization temperature and crystallization time on zeolite crystallization. The results showed that using natural zeolite as raw material and butylamine as templating agent, average pore size of 0.77nm, the relative crystallinity of 96.34% of the zeolite was prepared in the hydrothermal system. Optimal aging time is 12h, crystallization time is 48h, crystallization temperature is 170 °C.

Abstract: With the purpose that the desulphurization and skimming slag tailings from Ansteel can be used as building materials, the slag tailings were ground to powders with specific surface area 560m2/kg , and then was blended in cement. Strength of slag tailings-blended cement, Physical-mechanical characteristic, frost-resistance and resistance to carbonizing of slag tailings-blended concrete were studied. The experiment results demonstrated that as the amount of tailings increasing, both of the compressive strength and the rupture strength of cement mortar with 3 and 28 curing age decrease gradually, also did the compressive strength of the concrete modules with 28 curing age. The reason why these strengths decreased was also given. The study showed that the optimum amount of slag tailings to be blended was between 10 wt.% to 20wt.%.

Abstract: For a long time, the mineral additive was regarded as inert filler which had no reaction with the asphalt, so does the concrete mix. But some research conducted in the recent year proved that was not the case. In this study, four types of mineral materials (diatomite, kaolin (China Clay), Na-bentonite and Ca-bentonite) were selected out to investigate their effect on the asphalt mastics. The high temperature performance, low temperature performance and the temperature susceptibility of the asphalt mastics were evaluated. The result showed the diatomite rank first of the four minerals. The porous structure, huge specific area, mineralogical surface characteristic and the irregularity might be the reason for its positive effect. The bentonite, especially Na-bentonite is unfavorable to the asphalt modification.
