Abstract: Bi-axial tensile stress was applied on a polydimethylsiloxane film and mounted on a PMMA plate surface. Then, the film’s tensile strain was fixed and the gold film was sputtered onto the surface. A wrinkle pattern was found during the release of tensile strain because of the friction effect between the PMMA plate and a polydimethylsiloxane film. A nickel stamp with a wrinkle structure fabricated using electroforming process and the polymeric wrinkle structure can be replicated successfully by electroforming and by imprinting process.

Abstract: Abstract: The polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film was applied a tensile strain, next the following steps was should be done: fixing the tensile strain, sputtering the gold film on the surface of PDMS film, and then releasing the tensile strain, a large-scale area ripple structure was formed. The ripple dislocations, the cracks and the oriented surface cracks appeared simultaneously during the forming of the ripple structure. This study also discussed the wavelengths of ripple structures resulted from the amount of tensile strain (30%, 50%, 70%, 90% and 110%) and gold thickness (4Å and 10Å). The wavelengths of ripple structures decreased as the tensile strains increased and gold thickness decreased.

Abstract: Abstract: This investigation develops a novel method for fabricating silver chloride films by the heterogeneous precipitation of sodium chloride from aqueous solution and supersaturated solid-state silver nitrate out of aqueous solution. The morphology of the bottom surface of the silver chloride film thus obtained comprises numerous porous stick structures. The top surface comprises equiaxed grains, and columnar grains are observed in the cross-section.

Abstract: After the aragonite nacreous layer and cross section of Periglypta Magnifica mollusk shell were annealed, the influences, including crystallization temperatures, crystallization time and concentrations of calcium chloride aqueous solution on the crystal morphology of annealed shell was studied. These three factors evidently influenced the crystal morphology of calcium carbonate, whose annealed morphology was different from its origin. In addition, the cross section of annealed shell contained three crystallized regions of calcium carbonate.
