Abstract: With the rapid development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), the applications of the UAV are more and more extensively, and one of the important applications is aerial search and rescue. Using the UAV for search and rescue can save cost and avoid the risk of personal injury. Nowadays, the UAV usually use analog 1.2GHz, 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz real-time video transmission system. Because of the limited transmission bandwidth, the maximum resolution is only 640*480, which is not enough for aerial search. It is difficult to search and identify the small target by this aerial image with only 640*480 resolutions. Because the mobile devices and 3G base stations are widespread, this research integrated the UAV with a mobile device to perform time lapse photography App. The high resolution (2688*1520 pixels) photo can be transmitted to the cloud server via 3G network. The GCS (ground control station) can receive these high resolution photos from cloud servers. With these high resolution aerial photos, the rescued targets can be found and identified more easily. Using the EXIF (Exchangeable image file format) information of the aerial photo, the GPS coordinate of the target can be acquired.

Abstract: This paper introduces a satellite /3G+ multi-link communication terminal based on medical rescue information system, which provides 3G wireless network and satellite communication services and integrates cellular phone, maritime satellite terminal, BeiDou user device and Iridium phone [1]. The new terminal could improve the communication adaptability and transmission efficiency for the emergency medical rescue information system even in hostile environmental conditions [2] (such as earthquake, flood, and war). Tests showed that: this terminal has the advantages of simple access, rapid switch, efficient transmission, it can also guarantee timely and effective interaction of all kinds of information, so as to ensure the time-effect treatment for emergency medical rescue system [3].

Abstract: A wireless video transmission system is put forward in this paper. It is constituted by 3G wireless networks and ARM11. Collecting video data is used by V4L2 technology, and the H.264 video codec is used by S3C6410 processors the MFC module. The video codec is sent to remote monitoring center via 3G wireless network. The System can complete video capture, coding, wireless transmission and decoding, and displaying on the LCD. The experiment show the system can achieve wireless remote monitoring.

Abstract: Signaling storm becomes one of the complicated problems for 3G networks due to booming development of smart phones and mobile internet services. In this paper, the basic mechanisms of fast dormancy, resource allocation and periodic heartbeat signaling for typical services are analyzed, as signaling storm is caused by the discoordination between terminals, networks and services. Some improvement suggestions are also proposed to reduce the network overhead under the guaranteed user experience.

Abstract: In this paper the measurement concept of QoE related to mobile video streaming in 3G network environment is introduced. The state-of-the-art tools created for automatic data capturing in field experiments are compared. Results of a semi-Living Lab experiment using the MyExperience in-situ measurement tool are presented and analyzed. Five orthogonal QoE aspects are proposed by performing Principal Component Analysis on 17 question items from the questionnaires. Technical-quality related QoE aspects are modeled by the technical QoS parameters (at wireless infrastructure and network level) measured during the experiment. It is shown that QoE of mobile video streaming is influenced by the QoS and by the context also.
