Abstract: We conducted this clinical study in order to compare the quality of graft fixation with a bioabsorbable screw, as compared to a metal screw, in the anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. A number of 124 patients were submitted to the surgical intervention and 113 out of them were kept under medical survey up to 1 year after the surgery. This included: anamnesis, physical examination, IKDC evaluation and the knee arthrometric measurements. After 1 year, there was no significant difference between the two groups, from the IKDC evaluation point of view. The final IKDC evaluation was normal or almost normal in 92% out of the patients in the group with absorbable screws and in 90% out of the patients making part of the control group. The incidence of post surgery complications was similar in both of the groups. The study shows that the absorbable screw is an efficient alternative to the fixation with a metal screw in the anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

Abstract: Anterior Cruciatum Ligament (ACL) injury may cause other tissue injuries and degenerative joint diseases, rendering major surgery compulsory. The ACL substitutions from patients other tissue (autograft), from cadaver (allograft), or from other species (xenograft) still cause problems like donor morbidity, reduction of mechanical strength in cryopreservation period, and the risk of transgenic infection. Tissue engineering approach is the proposed solution. For this, synthetic ligament scaffold is needed. Electrospinning is a method to produce porous scaffolds made of polymers. In this study, filaments were produced from electrospinning poly l-lactic acid. The filaments were then twisted with 60o angle to the horizontal to make a yarn. Subsequently, the yarns were braided with the variation of braiding angle 40o, 60o and 80o. The characterization on the scaffold includes degradation rate, porosity, tensile strength, and cytotoxicity. It was found that larger braiding angle gave higher degradation rate, bigger pore size, and lower mechanical strength. For cytotoxicity, in terms of pore size and percentage of living cell, scaffold with braiding angle of 80o also showed the optimum result.

Abstract: Knee injuries is quite common in sport injuries and one of the most frequent happen are anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) knee injuries. There are two types of ACL injuries which are partial tear and complete tear. Currently physical tests, MRI image interpretation from expert and arthroscopy method are used to diagnoses the injuries. These procedures somehow are time consuming, invasive and operator dependent. To overcome these limitations, the intelligent diagnostic system using artificial neural network (ANN) has been proposed as an alternate way to give an early detection and also to classify the types of ACL injuries. We have used BP ANN and k-NN for the classification purpose. From these both classifiers, BP ANN give the higher accuracy which is 94.44% compared to k-NN classifier which the highest accuracy only up to 87.8333%.

Abstract: Nitinol (NiTi) is a biocompatible nickel titanium alloy widely used in medical applications and devices. In anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery of the knee, fine wires of NiTi are used because of its high elasticity and good memory shape behavior. In surgical procedures these wires are exposed to mechanical stress and high deformations. This paper presents the results of the tests performed on fine NiTi wires of 1.1 mm and 0.73 mm in diameter, exposed to tensile load, which frequently appears in orthopedic surgery. The tests were done at a temperature of 37o C, in order to observe the influence of tensile stress on the mechanical properties of NiTi. The obtained material properties are in good correlation with data from manufacturers. These results are useful in durability evaluation of fine NiTi wires utilized in surgical procedures.

Abstract: The distributed control of complex and dynamic manufacturing systems is a challenging task and the multi-agent system (MAS) becomes a suitable solution due to its flexibility in both distributing and integrating software functionalities across the controlled system. This paper investigates the potentials of improving agent message delivery by enhancing the underlying communication network with IP QoS mechanisms using service differentiation and early congestion avoidance techniques. The extensive simulation experiments demonstrated the effectiveness of our approach in providing small latency, small jitter and improved throughputs in ACL message delivery, whilst without deteriorating other data applications between distributed controllers.

Abstract: Military information system has unusually tough restrictions on the rank, and attaches weight to the safety and secrecy of the information. This makes the higher demands on access control on information. So a new access control model based on RBAC is prompted against the limitation of the existing models of RBAC. This model is named as fine-grained access control model based on RBAC. This model not only assigns different roles to different users, but also adds an attribute of department ,so the role and the department are combined; It realizes fine-grained access control and refines to controls of pages, so this keeps access control more precise; Role tree is used to define roles and in order to prevent the problem brought up by role inheriting, it impose s restrictions on whether it can role inherit; At last, ACL store the especial instances’ alteration. When a control is accessed, it will examine the role and department and then judge whether it can role inherit and then judge by combing ACL. So this will attain access control objective. The fulfillment indicates that this model can meet the requirement of real application of military information management system.

Abstract: Along with the enterprise economic powers strengthen continuously, for satisfying the applied demand of business, the enterprise has already built up gradually with each other the network infrastructure of the mutual communication of Internet. Security issues in open platform will explosive increase accompany with open requirements growing. Research and design security mechanism on router will be good for Internet security, as well as the developer to provide a powerful help. Router is a critical element in any security deployment. Routers are definite targets for network attackers. If an attacker can compromise and access a router, it can be a potential aid to them. Technique of router security is the technical importance of the network security to constitute the part, a scheme of router security operation of the enterprise network has been described.

Abstract: IP network unprecedented develops in the end of the last century and it evolutes to the next generation network. The network service also presents the characteristics of diversification. Thus the traditional real-time services have not already meet people's need. Algorithms proposed in this paper are developed based on network processor IXP2400 and SDK3.1, and observed on advanced router. Measured results show that, ACL processing module realizes filter and classification functions in the QoS model and meet the requirements filter and classification in QoS system.
