Abstract: Company XYZ, a toy manufacturing company, is pursuing a 40% reduction in manual material handling labor by 2030 through the implementation of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). This study applies an integrated Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Multi-Objective Optimization on the Basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) approach to select the optimal AMR, supported by discrete-event simulation modeling in FlexSim to validate designs prior to investment. A cost-benefit analysis, including Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period, demonstrates the economic feasibility of the proposed solution. Simulation results suggest a configuration of three AMRs to meet cycle-time targets with a projected labor cost reduction of 47%. This work contributes a validated methodology for robot selection, system design, and investment decision-making in manufacturing environments.

Abstract: Multicriteria decision techniques, among which the AHP represents one of the most widely used, allow the influence of a set of criteria to be considered simultaneously when making a certain decision. And they do so through the design of a hierarchical structure, in which the considered criteria are distributed, and the establishment of judgments that define the relative importance of each of them in the final decision. The results of any manufacturing process are conditioned by a set of parameters. At the same time, the different pieces of equipment that can carry out a certain process present differences in their performance, both in relation to said parameters and to the results that they allow to obtain. From this point of view, multicriteria decision techniques offer opportunities to channel the simultaneous consideration of all these aspects in order to make decisions in productive contexts. This work faces the initial phase of the design of a methodology for the selection of the most suitable FFF-SLA additive manufacturing equipment for different manufacturing scenarios. For this, the authors design an artefact capable of assessing the performance of the equipment considered as alternatives in relation to different relevant parameters for the decision. Then, main results and conclusions are discussed.

Abstract: Material selection is one of the vital and critical steps in the mechanical design process. In recent times, various tools based on the multi-criteria decision-making process are used successfully to cope with such complexity in material selection. .This work provides appropriate methods and tools to find the optimum thermoplastic polymer reinforced natural fiber composites. The material selection applied using a decision-making model that consists of the „Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution“ (TOPSIS) and „Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje“ (VIKOR) methods in order to rank of the materials according to applied criteria. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was performed in order to determine the weighting of the material properties or criteria. Rank the materials were gained by using ranking scores as results of the methods use. The results offer that the best polymers were found to be the LDPE and Nylon 6,6. It was proved that the multi-criteria decision-making model is an application for solving complex material choice decision problems. This model can be applied to other engineering applications with any number of alternatives and criteria for material selection.

Abstract: The mango seed was extracted to starch via distillation, alkaline, sedimentation and centrifugation methods. Based on the analysis, different starch extraction methods resulted in different proximate composition, physicochemical, morphological, structural, functional and thermal properties of starch. As such, it is necessary to choose a suitable starch extraction method to fabricate starch-based film for packaging application. Therefore, in this study, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was applied for performing the decision-making process. Based on the AHP method, it was found that, the best alternative for starch-based films is distillation method.

Abstract: Knowledge is essential for early flood warning as it can save life and property. This paper presents a novel knowledge-based framework based on rainfall, river water level, sediment, cloud distance and cloud strength that contributes to flood in Malaysia as the criteria in the AHP for Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDM). AHP caters complex decisions during flood events in uncertainty condition and provides fast decision making. The proposed framework is applied to the Bernam River Basin dataset located in Selangor, Malaysia. The framework is expected to produce early flood warning to the public.

Abstract: This paper uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process to optimize the PESTEL analysis. The scenario: pre-construction and assembly factors of huge civil engineering construction projects. Several managers use too many criteria to evaluate large projects. It suggests that there may be few important criteria that summarize the manager's preference. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed hypothesis, the authors prepared a qualitative and exploratory study. Conclusions are based on the judgment of an expert interviewed. As expected, the hypothesis was considered plausible. Two main criteria corresponded to 71% of the expert's preference. The result resembles a Pareto distribution.

Abstract: Forecasting and evaluating the safety of mine main ventilator are helpful to prevent mine ventilation safety accidents from happening. First, on the basis of collecting and analyzing a large quantity of fault information of main ventilator in the nationwide coal mine, the index system was established for safety evaluation of coal mine ventilator. Second, the remark set was set up. Then, weights of safety estimation index of mine main ventilator was determined by using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). With the experts grading method, single-factor matrix of fuzzy evaluation was established. Last, mathematical model of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation was settled for mine main ventilator based on fuzzy theory and used to evaluate the safety of the coal mine main ventilator. The current safety assessment level of coal mine ventilator is “basically safe” and the result can be used to make decisions.

Abstract: Cloud computing is evolving as a realization of SoA in which IT resources are offered as services on a pay-as-you-go basis. But several functionally equivalent services are discovered, because of the exponential growth in the number of cloud providers and services. The best service can be selected by ranking all the discovered services using their network and other non-network QoS parameters, which is formulated as MCDM problem. In this paper, we proposed a hybrid approach for MCDM problem that contains AHP and PROMETHEE. AHP is used to investigate the structure of the service ranking problem and to determine the weights of the QoS criteria, and PROMETHEE method is applied for the final ranking. The results of evaluation demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid method, and furthermore show the impact of network QoS parameters in the final service ranking.
