Abstract: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a major greenhouse gas that contributes to the global warming due to rise in temperature of the earth's atmosphere. Industrial activities such as fossil fuel combustion and production of several chemicals become one of the major contributors to CO2 emissions. This issue can be solved by providing improved technology to mitigate the carbon dioxide emissions. Absorption of CO2 in aqueous solution has been used extensively and has been proven to be the most applicable technology for CO2 capture. The effectiveness of absorption process is strongly depending on its hydrodynamic and mass transfer characteristics. Development of model is required to predict the behavior of the CO2 absorption process for reliable design and operation. In this paper, a review of the empirical models that have been implemented in CO2 absorption over a last decade is presented. The details of each model are discussed and compared.

Abstract: In this paper, a solution for the modeling and simulation of the gas absorption process in a liquid is presented. In the modeling procedure, the technological process is decomposed in two sub-processes connected in series, the first sub-process being considered a lumped parameter one, respectively the second sub-process being considered a distributed parameter one. In order to simulate, with a high accuracy, a process that includes in its structure a distributed parameter sub-process, an original method based on the matrix of partial derivatives of the state vector, associated with Taylor series, is used. The modeling-simulation procedure introduces the premise to approximate the concentration value of the gas absorbed in liquid, in relation to the initial pressure from the reactor, respectively the premise of including the technological process in a concentration control structure.

Abstract: The high oil-absorbing resin is a new type functional polymer material. The recent development of high oil-absorbent resin and its properties and synthesis were introduced in this reviewpaper. The absorption principle and process of highoil-absorbent resin are also presented. The effect of monomer, crosslinking agent and pore forming agent on high oil-absorption properties of oil-absorbing resin is investigated. At last, the present applications of the high oil-absorbing resin in environmental protection and other industrial purpose are also mentioned.

Abstract: This paper discusses how the result of exergetic analysis should be used for improving efficiency of an absorption refrigeration machine. In the present work the process of inverse rectification as auxiliary absorption process in an absorption refrigeration machine is analyzed from the point of view of structural and parametric optimization.
