Abstract: In this paper, the acoustic radiation mode’s amplitudes of laminated composite plates are studied. The layer wise finite element model is imposed to determine velocity distributions of laminated composite plates. Based on the acoustic radiation mode, the effects of the panel orientation angle on the first three orders acoustic radiation mode’s amplitude of the laminated composite plates are then discussed. A twelve-layer laminated plate was used as an example, and the numerical simulations results show that the effects of the panel orientation angle on the acoustic radiation amplitude of the laminated composite plates are significant.

Abstract: A general formulation to obtain the analytical expression for the sensitivity of the acoustic power radiation by a vibrating closed structure to one its design variables is described. The formulation is based on finite elements and the theory of acoustic radiation modes. The sensitivity coefficients indicate the effect of changing various designs or modeling parameters on the acoustic power and can be used to optimize the structure for minimum sound radiation. Putting a rectangle case as an example and verifying the feasibility of this method.

Abstract: Vibration and radiated sound of Air Conditioning are harmful to environment and safeness. Air Conditioning Compressor is its major part bringing vibration. To lower noise of a compressor and to improve its sound characteristic, the paper probes into a method indirect measurement of vibration, which both vibration and radiation behavior is represented using acoustic signal and theory of radiation modes. The paper investigates on the basic coupling relationship between structural vibration and acoustic radiation by means of the real modal analysis theory. Besides, the vibration and acoustic radiation characteristics of the rotary compressor are identified through the experiment method. According to the experimental results, between the vibration modes and the acoustic radiation modes have the comparability about the parameters. Therefore, this paper put forward a new method to the Active Structural Acoustic Control (ASAC), and provides the theoretical foundation of indirect measurement of vibration by using acoustic signal.
