Abstract: Software developers have shown a lot of interest in using agile approaches and methods to manage projects. The Agile Manifesto in 2001 provided a good basis to use this as it formulated its 4 values and 12 principles. Adaptability was a common feature in the Agile Manifesto to make agility happen and there appears a need to combine dynamism to ensure agility takes a more concrete and effective role. Whilst the term adaptability is discussed more often than dynamism by most researchers, the clarity in its meaning needs improvement as the terms are used interchangeably. This paper proposes a useful clarity on its differences and how it should be used. In addition, this approach would also facilitate the current research interest in mixing and combining software development methodologies to create hybrid versions as pure methods (traditional and agile) have not worked well in most software projects.

Abstract: This paper present the results of the researches regarding innovative and adaptive design of gear pumps for engineering of polymeric products with application in production of injection molding machine. It shows the description of gear pump with innovative design and double gear pump – innovative design, highlighting innovative design feature through constructive adaptation depending on requirements, having (30 – 40) % smaller at the axial size, compared to the classic pumps. They highlight the competitive advantages of innovative pumps with superior technological parameters. The paper also shows numerical simulation of technological parameters for pumps in innovative and adaptive variant proving the correctness and the advantages of new variants. Using the innovative variant allows the development a family of gear pumps, single and double, extremely compact, robust, reliable and with low manufacturing costs.

Abstract: This paper focuses on developing a novel control strategy of synchronizer for dual clutch transmission. The synchronization process is investigated and a mathematical model of synchronizer is proposed. The paper proposes a switch control method for synchronizer which is a hybrid dynamical system. The simulation results demonstrate that the performance of the switch controller is reasonable and effective.

Abstract: A new control scheme with self-adaption is put forward in this paper. The digital control and the analog circuit are combined. A light intensity sensor can be implemented with a photoelectric triode. This sensor makes the self-adaptation control of LED possible. As a result, the light of LED can be adjusted automatically with a PWM chopper according to the ambient brightness. The whole system’s power supply is from a Boost converter which has a high efficiency. In addition, This combination improves the hommization of the system and solves the problems existing incurrent headlamps, unsafe factors are also reduced. The validity of design is verified by experimental results.

Abstract: In order to improve the adaptability of manufacturing cloud services in the dynamical and open cloud manufacturing environment, a manufacturing cloud service model was proposed based on the adaptive mechanism. Using the model, external changes are sensed by the event-driven approach. The explicit description of environment is provided. According to preset policies, adaptive operations, such as adding, deleting, replacing and updating, can be executed when necessary. The service behavior and structure are adjusted by adaptive operations to guarantee the service performance. The adaptive operation algorithm of cloud services was given. Finally, the effectiveness of the model was demonstrated by a real instance.

Abstract: In this paper, a fuzzy state observer with an appropriate adaptive law is developed for a class of uncertain nonlinear system. The uncertain nonlinear system is represented by Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model, and the adaptive law is derived based on Lyapunov synthesis approach. It is shown that under appropriate assumptions, the state error between plant system state and desired linear model state converges to zero as time increases. The results of numerical simulation and the experiment on the magnetic levitation system show the effectiveness of this approach.

Abstract: This paper proposed an improved method based on adaptive with threshold wavelet transform denoising, according to image is often affected by noise pollution in the process of acquisition and transmission, compared with the advantages and disadvantages of traditional digital filtering method. It extracts the structure information and details of the image. It can adaptively select wavelet transform of optimal decomposition level and soft threshold to achieve the optimal noise reduction effect. The Simulation results demonstrate that this theory can effectively filter Gaussian noise and Salt and pepper noise, at the same time well protect the image details and achieve better visual effects.

Abstract: The purpose of multiple biometric fusion is to improve the recognition performance by utilizing their complementary. In this paper, the feature fusion recognition method of multi-view face and gait in video is studied, and a adaptive decision fusion method is proposed. The results showed that the adaptive fusion features carry the most discriminating power compared to any individual biometric and other static fusion rules like Max and Sum.

Abstract: Differential Evolution Algorithm (DE) is fast and stable, but it’s easy to fall into the local optimal solution and the population diversity reduces fast in the later period. In order to improve the algorithm optimization and convergence capability, this paper proposes an improved DE algorithm based on the new crossover strategy (CMDE). As to the Crossover-factor is decided by the proportion of the variance and the evolution process in each generation, so it can follow the process of evolution and constantly change; the added operation of Second Mutation can improve the capacity of solving problem, which algorithm falls into the local solution easily. With four standard test functions, the results show that the CMDE algorithm is superior to DE in convergence speed, precise and stability of algorithm.

Abstract: Architecture of adaptive control Bi-OADM is presented. Employing alternate-path switching scheme, the bi-directional traffic can be restored promptly under certain direction fiber failure in passive optical network (PON). The results indicate the adaptive control OADM exhibits a low loss (SMSR=15dB). As all the alternate-path switching is performed at optical switches, the administration and management cost can also be easily optimized.
