Abstract: In addressing the gap in sustainable utilization of industrial by-products and the limited exploration of natural antioxidants in nanoparticle synthesis, this study focused on synthesizing magnesium oxide (MgO) nanoparticles using by-products from Melaleuca leucadendra essential oil extraction. The research aimed to evaluate the feasibility of manufactoruing metal nanoparticles with agricultural waste and assesing their properties. The study first tested the antioxidant properties of the water extract of Melaleuca leucadendra leaves, a manufacturing waste from the Melaleuca leucadendra essential oil extraction process, using DPPH and FRAP assays. Green synthesis methods was employed to produce the nanoparticles. The production and properties of the particles were characterize with UV-VIS . Our results indicated that the MgO nanoparticles exhibited antioxidant activity. This study suggests a viable, eco-friendly approach for the utilization of agricultural waste from the Melaleuca leucadendra essential oil extraction.

Abstract: Under the acidic condition, 6-gingerol (C17H26O4) reacted with hydroxylamine to generate 6-gingerol oxime (C17H27NO4). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction with CuKα radiation (λ = 1.54184 Å) revealed the crystal belongs to the orthorhombic system, the space ground is P212121 with a = 5.24240(10), b = 25.7792(4), c = 25.9824(5) Å, V = 3511.39(11) Å3, Z = 8, Mr = 309.40, Dc = 1.171mg/mm3, μ = 0.669mm-1, S = 1.035, F(000) = 1344.0, the final wR2 was 0.1132 (all data) and R1 was 0.0412 [I>2σ (I)]. Two molecules compose one monomeric unit in the crystal. And the hydrogen bonds construct the dimer and the integral crystal spacial structure. The antioxidant activity of the 6-gingerol oxime was tested by the scavenging effect on DPPH radical and potassium ferricyanide reducing power test while Vitamin C was regarded as the comparison. The IC50 of the oxime for the scavenging effect on DPPH was 0.0471 g/L which was less strong than Vitamin C. The reducing power of Vitamin C was about three times powerful than the 6-gingerol oxime.

Abstract: nanozerovalent iron particles coated with biopolymer nanoskin were prepared by liquid phase method. For a period of time, the remaining xanthan layer can prevent oxidation of nanoiron in air. The goal of this study is to demonstrate that magnetic properties of magnetic fluid which suspend nanoiron particles coated with xanthan in xanthan/guar fluid. Magnetic hysteresis loops were measured at room temperatures and field-cooled / zero-field-cooled magnetization curves were obtained at low temperature by a vibrating sample magnetometer. The results interpret that biopolymer nanoskin did not strongly weaken the magnetic interaction between nanoiron particles.

Abstract: The effect of Armillaria mellea on blood lipid levels and oxidative stress in mice fed on high-fat diet was investigated. Animals were allocated to the Armillaria mellea polysaccharides-treatment groups (I, II) and Armillaria mellea oligosaccharides-treatment groups (I, II). All mice were fed with high-fat diet for 40 days but control mice with basic diet. TC, TG, HDL-c, LDL-c were measured by enzymatic and colorimetric methods. The same, MDA,SOD, GSH-PX were measured. Results showed that administration of Armillaria mellea polysaccharides and oligosaccharides significantly increased antioxidant enzymes GSH-Px activities and decreased TC, TG, LDL-c, MDA level in mice (P < 0.05) compared with model group. In conclusion Armillaria mellea polysaccharides and oligosaccharides were able to protect mices antioxidative and improve abnormal blood lipid levels.

Abstract: Purification and antioxidation of glycosaminoglycan from Patinopecten yessoensis waste were studied. The results showed that the glycosaminoglycan contained characteristic functional groups like-OH(3424cm-1), -COO-(1653cm-1) and-NH(1567cm-1), -SO2(1414 cm-1), C-O-C(sugar ring,1044cm-1),, and it had good ability of scavenging DPPH free radicals and reducibility as well as metal chelating.

Abstract: The antioxidant activity of Polyrhachis vicina wine extract was investigated: The IC50 of scavenging effect on superoxide radical generated by Pyrogallol autoxidation was 0.37 mg/mL; the maximum scavenging rate was 81.4%. The IC50 of scavenging effect on hydroxyl free radical generated by Fenton reaction was 0.66 mg/mL; the maximum scavenging rate was 91.8%. The IC50 of DPPH· scavenging effect was 0.48 mg/mL; the maximum scavenging rate was 91.4%. The results indicated that Polyrhachis vicina wine extract showed activity both in scavenging free radicals and antioxidation.

Abstract: In the surface of graphite electrode, the in-situ synthesized high temperature antioxidation composite coating is prepared, depending on argon arc cladding and the raw materials of Si and B4C powder. The coating consists of SiC and B13C2 ceramic particles. The results show that: the reaction generates B2O3 and SiO2 with high temperature play a role in healing crack and preventing oxygen diffusion; a kind of continuous interface is present between the cladding layer and the graphite substrate, no obvious flaws; burning at 1573 K and 10 h, oxidation weightlessness rate is 0.912%.

Abstract: The effect of pyrite cinder on calla lily antioxidation was researched by solution culture method. The experimental result shows that compared with the control, using pyrite cinder can obviously increase plant chlorophyll content and promote the photosynthesis of calla lily.Along with treating time prolonging, SOD,CAT,POD and MDA contents all show ascending first and then descending, and they are all higher than plants that have not used pyrite cinder. It presents that pyrite cinder has strong influence on calla lily growth, and can promote plant growth.

Abstract: The flavonoids and chlorogenic acid were separated and purified from Eulmoids ulmoids leaves, and their antioxidation activity in vivo and in vitro was investigated by animal test and free radical scavenging test. The result shows that Eucommia ulmoides leaves flavones and chlorogenic acid can significantly reduce the content of malondialchehyche (MDA) (p<0.05), but only Eucommia ulmoides leaves chlorogenic acid can significantly enhance the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) (p<0.05) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) (p<0.05), which means that Eucommia ulmoides leaves chlorogenic acid has more significant antioxidation activity in vivo; both Eucommia ulmoides Leaves flavones and chlorogenic acid have good capacity on scavenging hydroxyl radical (HO•), superoxide anion radical (O2-•) and 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH•), and show good doses-response relationship, but Eucommia ulmoides leaves chlorogenic acid shows highest scavenging rate on every radical, which means that Eucommia ulmoides leaves chlorogenic acid has more significant antioxidation activity in vitro.

Abstract: Make nano-scale Al doped with SiC by combustion synthesis with Si, C and Al powder as the raw materials. This kind of nano-scale Al doped with SiC boasts high infrared radiance, and thus can be used for energy conservation of thermal equipments at 800~1500°C. Details include: adopt the synthetize nano ceramic powder of high emissivity at low expense to compound coatings, and deposit the coating at the inwall of thermal kilns to make perfect combination so as to keep high emission rate for the purpose of saving energy in the subsequent process of actual use.
