Abstract: Polysulfonamide Aramid 1313 blended siro-spun yarns and silver-coated filament are used to weave flame retardant and antistatic fabrics. The effect of fabric weave and silver-coated filament content on flame retardant property and antistatic property was discussed. Two-factor analysis of variance shows that fabric weave and filament content have little effect on fabric flame retardant property, while they affect fabric antistatic property considerably. Fitting curve of antistatic property and filament content relationship was also established.

Abstract: The acidified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs-COOH) was obtained by nitric acid treatment on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs).The PI/MWNTs-COOH composite films were synthesized by in situ polymerization. The thermal stability, resistance and mechanical properties of PI/MWNTs-COOH composite were evaluated. The results showed that: the composites maintained a good thermal stability with the addition of the MWNTs-COOH; the resistance of the composite film dropped at first, and rose up later. While the tensile strength increased at first and then decreased. In conclusion, the PI/MWNTs-COOH composite films exhibited better thermal, antistatic and mechanical properties compared with neat PI.

Abstract: A vulcanized epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) based electrically conductive compound was successfully prepared by using the combination of internal mechanical mixing and open milling devices. This compound was developed based on a formula with at least 73.0 wt % of petro-chemical free ingredients. The vulcanizate of this compound showed good physical properties, high electrical conductivities and also complied with Malaysia Standard 1097 [. As a result, this newly formulated compound can be targeted for making antistatic tire tread of commercial vehicles.

Abstract: Electrostatic charges are potentially generated on a commercial vehicle through several ways, such as friction of its rubber tyres while rolling on the road and also from the rotating of its mechanical components (e.g. bearings shaft). If these accumulated electrostatic charges are not dissipated from the vehicle, interferences of electronic components within the vehicle may occur. Highly accumulated electrostatic charges may also lead to safety hazards (e.g. fires and explosions) for vehicles that transporting highly flammable materials or during the vehicles refueling process.

Abstract: The fiber of the agriculture and forestry biomass resources and the processing residues is main raw materials as a reinforcing material, the calcinated calcium sulfate hemihydrates by industrial flue gas desulfurization waste is a binder, adding efficient composite retarder to increase the initial setting time of gypsum and meet the production process requirements, adding conductive carbon black to reduce system resistance gypsum fiber to produce and meet the requirements of antistatic products. By semi-dry process, we produced the retardant, waterproof, environmental friendly and anti-static desulfurization gypsum fiberboard. Desulfurization gypsum antistatic fiberboard can meet the market demand for functional products used widely in antistatic floor, antistatic wall panel etc. The production of anti-static desulfhurization gypsum fiberboard expands the application range of desulfhurization gypsum, at the same time, which changes the structure of the forestry industry and has a positive effect on improving the forestry economic operation quality, efficiency and international competitiveness.

Abstract: The CNTs have been incorporated in PET/PTT matrix and PET/PTT-CNTs composites have been prepared. The CNTs can act an effective nucleating agent in the PET/PTT matrix and the percolation threshold in PET/PTT-CNTs composites is about 6 wt%. SEM graphs indicated that the CNTs are well dispersed in the PET/PTT matrix.

Abstract: In this paper, the surface finishing process of anti-alcohol, anti-oil and antistatic was applied on terylene needle-punched nonwoven filter material. We used contact angle, anti-alcohol grade, anti-oil grade, static voltage and half-life period as the main indicators for evaluating the effect of the finishing. The organic fluorine TG-410C and nonionic antistatic agent TF-481 were selected as finishing agents. The single factor experiments and orthogonal experiments were carried out on four effect factors of the finishing, including volume percent of organic fluorine, volume percent of antistatic agent, baking temperature, baking duration. The results show an optimum formula: the volume percent of organic fluorine is 20%, the volume percent of antistatic agent is 15%, baking temperature is 170°C, and baking duration is 7min. After finishing, anti-alcohol grade can reach level eight, anti-oil grade can reach level five; the half-life period is less than 1 second. So it can be employed in filtering the air and reducing dust particle and concentration.

Abstract: A convenient method had been developed for preparing antistatic Poly(ethylene terephthalate)/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (PET/MWCNTs) nanocomposites. Polyaniline (PANI) was employed to coat MWCNTs as interfacial modifier. At first, the PANI-coating MWCNTs (PANI-c-MWCNTs) were prepared via miniemulsion polymerization of aniline at the presence of MWCNTs. The TEM images, FT-IR spectra, UV-Vis spectra and electrical conductivity were investigated, which indicated that the MWCNTs were coated with a conductive PANI ultrathin film while the morphology and electrical property had almost no damage. Then the PANI-c-MWCNTs were added into PET through in-situ polymerization method. The TEM images indicate that PANI-c-MWCNTs could be well dispersed in PET matrix, which had important positive effects on the electrical conductive properties of PET/PANI-c-MWCNTs nanocomposites. The results indicate that the electrical conductivity of PET/1.0 wt% PANI-c-MWCNTs nanocomposites reaches the antistatic level.

Abstract: Polyester/nylon blend fabric has some advantages, such as high strength, excellent drapability, but the biggest drawback of the blend fabric is the easily formed electrostatic. In this paper, the blend fabric was finished with the triblock copolymer containing organic silicon to improve the antistatic property of the fabric. The influence of the concentration of the finishing agent on the antistatic property was studied emphasisly. And the effect of antistatic, the feeling and the color fastness were analyzed. The results show that the finishing agent of triblock copolymer containing hydrophilic organosilicon with the concentration of 15 g/L can make the fabric achieve the best antistatic effect, the best feeling and the fabric color fastness is less affected.

Abstract: This research is aimed to achieve TPU-based TPU/PA6 blends which is equipped with both considerable mechanical properties and antistatic performance by blending with different portions of compatibilizer EVA-g-MAH and conductive carbon black with twin screw extruder. Results indicate that, the EVA-g-MAH not only improves the blend’s compatibility but also the mechanical properties. DSC results show that the gap between the glass transition temperatures of TPU and PA6 got shorten after adding EVA-g-MAH. The 70TPU/30PA6/15 EVA-g-MAH has better mechanical properties which are congruent with the findings of the SEM, and when this ratio was blended with different portions of conductive carbon black, their mechanical properties almost retain the same, but the blends obtain the antistatic property eventually. While lowering the production costs, the industrial application scope of TPU is widened especially the fields which have high requirement for antistatic property, such as electronic, medical, automotive, packaging, etc.
