Abstract: In view of the current situation of line contact efficiency of NC machining without automatic programing system, the automatic programming system for NC machining based on line contact processing is developed. According to the characteristics of line contact processing, the key technologies in the automatic programming system of this paper is studied. After surface modeling, the data of DXF files generated by CAD systems can be read. And the surface processing information is obtained by these data sorted. Through the design of machining process and the sorting of tool path, the tool path of line contact processing is got. Then the research of soft cut of ruled surface is completed, and the graphical automatic programming is realized.

Abstract: This paper provides the details of continuous cutting technology to architectural model made by EPS. To solve the interference problem between outline surface and hot cutting-wire in the cutting process, STL model projection profile method is used. Slicing algorithm based on grouping matrix is proposed to cutting the outline model continuously. Local topological relations in each group are established to improve the efficiency of slicing cutting. In order to apply this algorithm to the actual process better, automatic programming system with Visual C + + 6.0 based on STL model is developed, which used the 5-DOF CNC thermal device to cut the model. The experiment shows that this technology can cut the outline architectural model efficiently and accurately.

Abstract: The grinding wheel-profile is mostly formed by adjusting the angle of cylindrical profile model when regrinding gear hob with the large helix flute. Repeat trial cutting is needed with this method, which results in low efficiency. In order to improve the efficiency of processing, a mathematical model of grinding wheel profile was establish in according to forming principle of the rake face of gear hob and accurately calculate grinding wheel-profile. A automatic programming system of calculating grinding wheel-profile and automatically generate NC code is developed with the developing tool of VC++.

Abstract: The motion relationship model of all axes involved in CNC hobbing machines is established. A single pitch adjustment method based on motion coupling relationship in gear hobbing is proposed. With position adjustment of only 0 to 1 pitch, the same motion coupling relationship during the whole machining process can be guaranteed. Though automatic programming system based on SINUMERIK 840D, the coupled motion control and adjustment in CNC hobbing process is realized. And practical application in CNC hobbing machines shows that this method can reduced adjustment time effectively during process, improving processing efficiency.

Abstract: Conical screw rotor is the key part of conical double-screw extruder, with complex geometrical features, such as variable outside and inside diameter, unequal groove depth, varied head and lead. The manufacturing process is complicated and difficult. The precision and efficiency of conventional machining method is lower, the mating character of machined screw rotor is bad and the exchangeability is hard. On the basis of studying the geometric character and contacting process of double conical screw, this paper presents a new NC manufacturing method to envelope milling screw rotor with several axes moving combined. The automatic programming system for screw rotor NC machining is developed. This research increases the machining level of conical double screw. It has conspicuous engineering meaning.
