Abstract: This paper studied the structural and optical properties of Dy3+-doped CaBi4Ti4O15 phosphors synthesized by a traditional solid state method. The phosphors have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and fluorescence measurements. Upon 450 nm blue light excitation, the phosphors show yellow emission centered at 574 nm with the color coordination of (x=0.44, y=0.54). And the phosphors exhibit a tunable white color emission under the near ultraviolet source by adjusting the ratio of Dy3+ appropriately. The optimal composition of Ca0.93Bi4Ti4O15:0.07Dy3+ generates white light with the color chromaticity of (x=0.31, y=0.36), indicating that CaBi4Ti4O15:Dy3+ phosphor would be a potential candidate for white light emitting diodes (LEDs) applications.

Abstract: SrBi3.98Dy0.02Ti4O15 (SBDT), a member of bismuth layer structure family, is prepared by solid state reaction method. XRD analysis shows the formation of single-phase compound with an orthorhombic structure. Complex impedance spectroscopy (CIS) and dielectric data are acquired from room temperature to 600°C over a wide range of frequencies. The results obtained from the impedance spectroscopy are analyzed, to understand the conductivity behavior of SBDT. Activation energies are evaluated from the data. The piezoelectric coupling factor, kp, is found to be 0.5.
