Abstract: In current scenario, all the manufacturing industries are placing constant efforts for their endurance in the current global volatile economy. Manufacturing industries are annoying to implement new and professional techniques in their regular production processes. Some of the recognized tools are applied and their awareness has been growing among the industries, especially in production sector. Last two decades have witnessed an explosion in the area of quality and productivity improvement initiatives in the manufacturing industries by different tools and techniques such as lean manufacturing, total quality management, total productive maintenance, six sigma implementation etc. The objective of this study is to enlighten the importance of lean techniques implementation in a medium scale belt manufacturing industry. This research study helps to exhibit the existing hidden potential in the selected industry as well as a selection of appropriate techniques for productivity improvements. Also, it aims to eradicate wastes and non-value added activities at every stage in order to enhance the overall productivity. From the results after implementation of appropriate lean techniques it was found that, the lead time was reduced about 1256 minutes and the overall production was increased by about 9%.

Abstract: The literature on chain and belt transmissions talks about the effect of centrifugal forces on chains and belts as creating a constant Fc = (m/l) v2 constant component along belt or chain. This component is only depending on the mass per unit of length (m/l) and the velocity of chain or belt. Our experimental data and also theoretical approach on the centrifugal effect on the load of chain and belt transmissions shows that chain/belt supplementary loading but also shaft unloading are different. This effect must consider not only the mass per unit of length and the velocity of chain/belt but also the stiffness of chain/belt and the stiffness of shafts and other bearing components. The conclusions of this paper are changing significantly the recommendations from the literature about the centrifugal effect on the load of chain and belt transmissions.

Abstract: In order to solve the problem of serious dust and difficult to control in coal conveyer belt without tissue in a thermal power plant of Shanxi, this paper introduces the principle of dry fog dust suppression technology, apparatus components, advantages and disadvantages and the application in a thermal power plant. Determination of dust concentration when the dry fog dust suppression work or does not work. Data show that the rate of dry fog dust suppression is generally greater than 80%, the dust concentration is less than 10 mg/m3, especially the suppression effect on small particles of less than 10 μm dust is obvious. Practice shows that dust has been effectively suppressed and it has a good application prospect, when this technology and device are applied.

Abstract: Options for further use of worn-out conveyor belts were analysed and examined within the frame of research about options of reverse logistics. Reverse logistics has importance because one of the most important elements of reverse logistics is presented by wastes. By the research it is examined the reverse logistics network system for wastes. The article presents partial results of the aforesaid research in the field of reverse material flow of rubber wastes, especially results of theoretical knowledge of the current state of reverse material flow of rubber wastes in Slovak republic and re-processing of rubber wastes.

Abstract: Reverse logistics is very interesting part of eco-logistics, application part of logistics. It creates conditions for various applications and also for various subjects. One form of application is connection of reverse logistics and processing of used wear conveyor belts. Conveyor belts present one of the most important parts of belt conveying and their lifetime is limited, for example by breakdowns, damages, etc. So, using of reverse logistics processes affords facilities for producers and users of conveyor belts at the direction of material saving and also saving of costs.

Abstract: In this paper, the slipping of belt conveyor for the normal stable operation and full load starting in between belt and rollers are investigated. The results illustrate that the resistance of the belt conveyor in the normal and stable operation is less than that of the full load starting operation due. The possibility of slipping in normal and stable operation is less than that of the slipping start running at full load condition. Therefore, in order to check the conveyor belt slipping, we should pay attention to the full load start condition, can not check under normal and stable operation of the skid. The application of soft-start technology to solve the problem of slipping when starting was also proposed.

Abstract: In this paper, the conveyor belt tearing statistics of Qingdao Port Coal and Mineral Terminal Co. Ltd in 10 years is analyzed to seek two characteristics of conveyor belt after tearing, and also a method of using capacitive approach switch and inductive proximity switch to detect the tearing is proposed.

Abstract: In this article, three kinds of belt named B, C and D type are invented, then their main performance are compared with the other two kinds of belt structures introduced in previous papers. Simulation results showed that B and D-type belts are better than the other three. Comparatively the latter needs less material, its molding process is easier, and the tire body is lighter than B type tire, so in general it can be considered that D-type belt is the best among the five kinds of belt structures.

Abstract: This paper was dedicated to elucidate an investigation of abrasive wear and surface topography of Titanium alloy TA15 on dry grinding with zirconia alumina belt. In the investigation, experiments were performed on milling machine XS5040 equipped with assembled belt grinding device. The wear abrasive, surface morphology of machined belt in different phase were analyzed using 3D viewer microscope. The results show that the wear of belt abrasive is mainly steady attritions wear since zirconia alumina belt was stable on dry grinding. At higher grinding force, the abrasive was found to undergo dislodging prior to being gradually worn. So zirconia alumina belt has excellent performance in the dry grinding titanium alloy.

Abstract: Deviated belt will cause great harm, which will not only reduce its service life, but also will lead to the machine damage and personal casualty. This paper analyzes the reasons for belt deviation and establishes the mechanical model of a conveyor belt. The theoretical analysis and numerical simulation are adopted in this article to analyze and research the speed when the belt is deviated, obtain the relation between the transversal movement speed of belt and front offset angle of a idler, idler rotation speed and belt speed, and provide the deviation correction and prevention of belt conveyor with theoretical guidance.
