Abstract: In this study different materials made out of cut-off as well as reclained carbon fibres (rCF) are described and compared. For this benchmark nonwovens, compounds, SMC, BMC, as well as standard lightweight materials like high alloy steels, aluminium and magnesium are taken into account. Specific mechanical properties like modulus and tensile strength are used to show the lightweight potential of recycled carbon fibre materials in ashby charts. It is shown that rCF products can substitute glass fibre applications and are also comparable to metals and alloys.

Abstract: As technology develops, the aviation structures become more and more complex and consist of more difficult-to-machine features. In order to evaluate the cutting tool performance, it is necessary to design a testing thin-walled benchmark with some typical difficult-to-machine features which are extracted from complex integrated components used in aviation. Firstly, the models with different typical features were designed and optimized using UG NX. Then, based on the analysis of process of typical features, the specific processing strategies of testing benchmarks were proposed. Finally, the process was analog simulated with CAM to evaluate whether it was qualified for machining. The results would make preparations for the evaluation of different cutting tool performance.

Abstract: There are various vendors of FFT libraries, but there is no software available for it automatic benchmarking on all available devices. In this article an application that allows easy measure the performance and precision of various FFT libraries on the available GPUs and CPUs is presented. This application has been used to find out the fastest FFT library for NVIDIA GTX TESLA and NVIDIA GTX TITAN. The obtained results shown that the best implementation is provided by cuFFT library developed by NVIDIA.

Abstract: The indoor air quality is very important at any workplace. The air quality accidents and problems are analyzed. Based on the air quality standard and benchmarks, the test and monitor data can be compared. So the air condition system operation status can be evaluated based on the data, the potential causes can be drawn, and the improvement actions and suggestions can be recommended in the paper.

Abstract: After operation of ground hydraulic constructions, it is necessary to implement monitoring during several years; which includes collecting data concerning filtration flow, deposition, strength, sliding and stability of dams and other hydraulic constructions. The technical state study conclusions are drawn upon the collected data analyses. The aim of the work is to make a technical state study of Khachen reservoir hydro system to find out the further exploitation opportunities separated nodes, to process engineering measures program, by the realization of which there will be established conditions for their further safe operation. For the above mentioned purpose there have been implemented the followings: technical data analyses of the dam and it’s separate nodes, technical-economic analyses of the dam, analyses of storage alluvium, net volume and water balance, physical-mechanical properties lab studies of dam ground. Homogeneity estimation of dam by geophysical methods, discovering of filtration centralized discharge across dam and lateral prism, making conclusions, separate nodes description located in the dam, technical state analyses and making conclusions, strength and stability analyses of the dam under static and seismic loading conditions, taking into consideration the ground laboratory experiments and dam geodetic measurements.

Abstract: Scheduling is the allocation of resources over time to carry out a collection of tasks assigned in any field of engineering and non engineering. Majority of JSSP are categorized into non deterministic (NP) hard problem because of its complexity. Scheduling are generally solved by using heuristics to obtain optimal or near optimal solutions because problems found in practical applications cannot be solved to optimality using available resources in many cases. Many researchers attempted to solve the problem by applying various optimization techniques. While using traditional methods they observed huge difficulty in solving high complex problems and meta-heuristic algorithms were proved most efficient algorithms to solve various JSSP so far. The objective of this paper i) to make use of a newly developed meta heuristic called Firefly algorithm (FA) because of inspiration on Firefly and its characteristic. ii) To find the combined objective function by determining optimal make span, mean flow time and tardiness of different size problems (using Lawrence 1-40 problems) as a bench marking dataset and to find the actual computational time. Iii) to prove that the proposed FFA algorithm is a good problem solving technique for JSSP with multi criteria.

Abstract: Hadoop is the most popular Cloud Computing platform with source code. Its maturity and completeness of ecosystem attract a large number of technical personnel and companies. With the development of a variety of assistive technologies, it is more and more easily to build Hadoop platform. But how to judge a Hadoop platform is built successfully and whether robust enough to be able to put into actual production also requires a series of benchmark tests. This article will introduce the principles and usage methods of Hadoop platform benchmark tools such as Slive, DFSIO and TeraSort. Then compare their results and make a comparison.

Abstract: A bridge die was designed for the simultaneous extrusion of two rectangular profiles and used in a strictly monitored aluminum extrusion process. Experimental investigations aimed at the measurement of the mandrel deflection, the local die temperature, and the pressure inside the welding chamber by means of special measurement equipment. AA6082 alloy was used as extrusion material. The influence of the extrusion speed on the aforementioned objectives is reported. The experiments were repeated at least three times under the same conditions in order to achieve a statistical validation of the acquired data. These data are provided as reference for the 2013 edition of the Extrusion Benchmark.

Abstract: The collimator has an extensive application as an experiment equipment that can provide an infinity goal in the instrument alignment and testing. This paper provides a new type of collimator with image stabilization function in consideration of human disturbance factors, including environment micro-vibration and so on. Liquid surface which appears natural level under gravity imaging optical path of collimator can emerge through liquid refraction and reflex later. And we should make use of this phenomenon. Mathematical modeling and analysis on the principle of dynamic imaging of the liquid wedge have been made to design several optical principle charts of the collimator with image stabilization function. One of the image stabilization optical principle structure styles has been designed based on its mechanical structure. An experiment prototype is produced and is made more practical.

Abstract: Java is a very popular Object-oriented programming (OOP) language because of its platform independent and automatic memory release mechanism (or garbage collection). However, garbage collection also speeds CPU time and should be done after careful consideration. In the paper, memory usage behavior and run-time object characteristics, including heap and object size, object age and access frequency, are studied using several commercial benchmarks. The profiler design method and experiment detail are represented in the paper. The runtime object characteristics are very important to guide the employment of different memory management algorithm.
